First, cut the white bread into thin slices or small cubes. Warm the milk and pour it over the cubes, letting it soak in for a few minutes.

Next, whisk the eggs and finely chop the parsley. Then knead the eggs, parsley, salt, pepper, and nutmeg into the soaked mixture – this works best with damp, cold hands.

Now finely chop the onion and sauté it with butter, then add it to the dumpling mixture as well.
