Beer, pasteurised. 4.4% Vol
The charismatic taste of Pilsner Urquell combines the pleasant bitterness of the spicy-tart Saaz aroma hops with deep malt aromas created by boiling the mash three times over an open flame.
Josef Groll brewed the first Pilsner-style brew on 5 October 1842. The main difference between a beer brewed according to the Pilsner brewing method and other full beers - such as the Hellen - is that it is more heavily hopped and thus more bitter. In particular, Pilsner Urquell uses hops from the famous hop-growing region around the North Bohemian town of Saaz.
