Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg -Film-coated tablets are a traditional herbal medicinal product for the relief of mild symptoms before the onset of menstruation (Premenstrual Syndrome).
The ingredients of the monk's pepper extract influence the metabolism of certain hormones and messenger substances, which in combination leads to a relief of the monthly recurring symptoms such as mood swings, weight gain due to fluid retention in the tissue as well as painful tension and swelling in the breast.
This medicinal product is a traditional herbal medicinal product which is registered exclusively on the basis of long-standing use for the mentioned area of application.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 months, consult your doctor.

Children and adolescents
There is no area of application for Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg – Film-coated tablets in children under 12 years of age.
For use in female adolescents, regular menstruation should be present.
There is no area of application for Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg – Film-coated tablets in men.
If you are being treated or have been treated for a tumour whose growth could be influenced by certain hormones (oestrogens), you should only take Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4mg- Film-coated tablets after consulting your doctor.
Consult your doctor before taking Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4mg- Film-coated tablets
if you are being treated with any of the following medicines at the same time: Dopamine agonists, dopamine antagonists, oestrogens or anti-oestrogens. (see also "Taking Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4mg- Film-coated tablets together with other medicines").
If you have a history of pituitary gland disease, you should discuss taking this medicine with a doctor.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take any other medicines.
If you are being treated with any of the following medicines, seek medical advice before taking Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4mg- Film-coated tablets, as a mutual influence cannot be ruled out: Dopamine agonists, dopamine antagonists, oestrogens and anti-oestrogens (see also "Warnings and precautions").
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

There is no use for Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg – Film-coated tablets during pregnancy.
Taking Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4mg- Film-coated tablets during breast-feeding is not recommended as milk production could be affected.
Driving and using machines
No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed.
Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg - Film-coated tablets contain sugar (lactose and glucose)
Please only take this medicine after consulting your doctor if you are aware that you suffer from a sugar intolerance.
How should the medicine be taken?

The recommended dose is:

1 film-coated tablet daily

Use in children

Method of administration
For oral use.
The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid (e.g. a glass of water) at the same time each day.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 months, consult your doctor.

The active substance is:
Dry extract of monk's pepper fruits (Agni casti fructus)
1 film-coated tablet contains:
4 mg dry extract of monk's pepper fruits,
(drug-extract ratio 7-13:1), extraction agent: Ethanol 60% (m/m)
The other ingredients are:
Tablet core: Glucose syrup, maize starch, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), lactose monohydrate.
Tablet coating: Hypromellose, macrogol 4000, lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron(III) oxide (E 172).
What Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg - Film-coated tablets look like and contents of the pack
Dr. Böhm Monk's Pepper 4 mg - Film-coated tablets are salmon-pink, round tablets with a one-sided notch, which is not intended for dividing.
They are available in aluminium/PVC blister packs in packs of 30 or 60. Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
