1. What are Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen and what are they used for?
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen contain a combination of D-camphor and hawthorn fruit extract as active ingredients.
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are used for dizziness caused by low blood pressure, especially when standing up after lying down, bending over or sitting for a long time (hypotonic and orthostatic circulatory disorders).

Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen contain a combination of D-camphor and hawthorn fruit extract as active ingredients.
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are used for dizziness caused by low blood pressure, especially when standing up after lying down, bending over or sitting for a long time (hypotonic and orthostatic circulatory disorders).
What should you consider before taking it?
What should you consider before taking Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen ?
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen must not be taken,
- If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to D-camphor or hawthorn or any of the other ingredients of Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen listed in section 6,
- by infants and toddlers up to 2 years of age (risk of laryngospasm),
- by patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract, due to the camphor content. Inhalation of Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen can lead to shortness of breath or trigger an asthma attack.

Children and adolescents
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to the lack of data on safety and efficacy and due to the alcohol content.
Taking Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen together with other medicines
No interactions have been reported to date.
The simultaneous administration of cardiac glycosides (certain medicines for heart failure) is possible.
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
There are no data on the use of Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen in pregnant women. Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are not recommended for use in pregnant women.
It is not known whether any components of Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen pass into breast milk. A risk to breast-fed infants cannot be ruled out. Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen should not be taken by breastfeeding women.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicines.
Driving and using machines
No impairments of the ability to drive or operate machinery are known.
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen contain 60% by volume of alcohol (ethanol)
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen contain 60% by volume of alcohol (ethanol), i.e. up to 480 mg per dose, corresponding to 12 ml of beer or 5 ml of wine per dose. There is a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism.
The alcohol content must be taken into account in pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as in children and adolescents and in patients with an increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy (epilepsy).
How should the medicine be taken?
How should Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen be taken?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed, 10 drops of Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are taken 3 times a day on a piece of sugar that is allowed to dissolve in the mouth, or on a piece of bread (diabetics) that is chewed slowly, or Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are dripped undiluted onto the tongue, if the medicinal taste does not bother you.
Depending on the severity of the symptoms, the dosage can be increased to up to 25 drops 3 times a day after consultation with your doctor.
In case of fainting spells and impending collapse, 5 - 10 drops are taken at intervals of 15 minutes until improvement occurs.
The preparation should not be taken with water, as the ingredient D-camphor is not water-soluble and may precipitate.

Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen can also be taken for long-term therapy - depending on the type of symptoms.
Use in children and adolescents
There is no experience in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen is too strong or too weak.
If you have taken more Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen than you should
No overdoses or poisoning symptoms have been reported.
If you forget to take Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen
Do not take a double dose, but continue taking or using it as directed in this leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor.
If you have any further questions about the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What side effects are possible?

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and the carton.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
After opening the bottle, the contents are stable until the printed expiry date.

What Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen contain:
The active ingredients are D-camphor and hawthorn fruit liquid extract.
100 g solution contains:
2.5 g D-camphor
97.3 g liquid extract from fresh hawthorn fruits (Crataegi fructus recens)
(1:1.3-1.5, extraction agent ethanol 93 vol.-%)
The other ingredients are: Levomenthol (flavouring). Contains 60% by volume of alcohol (ethanol).
What Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen look like and contents of the pack:
Korodin® Herz-Kreislauf-Tropfen are a clear, brown solution with the smell and taste of alcohol and camphor. They are available in dropper bottles of 10 ml, 40 ml and 100 ml.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
