Nowhere in Europe are there such huge walnut plantations: the famous walnuts grow in the region around Grenoble. The world's most famous walnut region is located there and the walnuts are harvested by the so-called "Nuciculteurs" in mid-October.

But why are they so famous? Thanks to the good soils within the region and the favorable climate, the nuts can grow particularly large and aromatic. What also makes them special is their color. The Grenoble walnut is whiter than conventional walnuts.

The name "Grenoble Walnut" has been a protected geographical indication since 1938.

Grenoble walnuts have a diameter of 28-34 mm.
