This is where I come from!
The avocado is a plant species from the laurel family. Botanically speaking, it is therefore even considered a berry. The cultivation of avocados began over 10,000 years ago in the tropical regions of the earth, such as South and Central America, Southeast Asia or Africa. Today they also grow in the subtropics such as in southern Spain or Israel.
The avocado is known for its energy richness. In addition, they contain important nutrients such as vitamin B6 and folic acid. Vitamins A, B, and E are also present in avocados.
How to store me properly!
Avocados are best stored when ripe in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator at around 6 degrees Celsius, as they continue to ripen at room temperature. To prevent cut surfaces from turning brown, this can be prevented with a little lemon juice. The core also helps the avocado stay fresh longer.
Intended use
The most famous recipe is guacamole, which finds its lovers in the morning, at noon and in the evening. In addition, the avocado is found in many other recipes such as spreads, sushi, pasta and tacos.
