The unfiltered red wine from Burgenland, vinified from the Zweigelt grape variety, convinces with its drinkability and fruity notes.
About the producer:
The Andert winery is located in Pamhagen on the Lerchenfeld, embedded in the idyllic landscape of the Seewinkel. Managed by the brothers Erich and Mike Andert, it is a magical place that feels like time passes differently. Few places convey such a sense of deceleration, far from the hustle and bustle of city life.
- Holistic management:
The Andert winery is a prime example of holistic and biodynamic agriculture. The farm is home not only to vines, but also to vegetables, herbs, and the Anderts' own pigs and chickens. The Anderts focus on sustainable farming by treating their vines exclusively with teas and extracts they make themselves. The lush, juicy leaves of the vines are a testament to this environmentally friendly practice.
- The wines:
Erich and Mike Andert are well-known figures on the Austrian wine scene. Mike has been producing wines since 1997, which have changed significantly since then. While his first wines, inspired by Bordeaux, were notable for their high alcohol content and strong tannins, today's creations are the opposite: they are characterized by less alcohol, earlier picking, less wood influence and a more delicate extraction.
The red wines spend less time on the mash, while the white wines impress with a distinct mash influence. The Anderts are inspired by natural wine classics from the Karst, such as the wines from Čotar. These methods result in a wonderful harmony between power and depth, paired with lightness and low alcohol.
- A place to slow down:
The Andert winery is not only a place of winemaking, but also a small paradise that offers visitors the opportunity to escape the "frenzied standstill" of our modern world. The combination of traditional agriculture and modern wine production creates an intact ecosystem that is not only good for the wine, but also for the soul.
