Many women are plagued by menstrual cramps month after month. The "days before the days" can bring with them some hormone-related ailments (premenstrual syndrome, PMS). It is precisely during this period that a hormonal imbalance in the female body can have a particularly negative effect on well-being.
Typical symptoms include:
- Mood swings / irritability
- Painful tension and swelling in the breasts
- Weight gain due to water retention
- Sleep disorders / fatigue
- Increased appetite
As a particularly effective aid for PMS-related ailments, Dr. Böhm® Mönchspfeffer forte is now available. The easy-to-swallow film-coated tablets contain 20 mg of monk's pepper extract, the highest market-approved dosage of the potent medicinal plant. This makes them ideal for relieving even more severe menstrual cramps and as a sensible way to enhance an existing therapy with a lower-dose preparation (e.g. Dr. Böhm® Mönchspfeffer 4 mg – from the age of 12)
- Purely plant-based
- Just once a day
- Recommended for use over several cycles
Dr. Böhm® Mönchspfeffer forte 20 mg contains a dry extract from monk's pepper fruits, which is used to treat premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Monk's pepper – Vitex agnus-castus – is a plant native to the Mediterranean region and grows up to four meters tall. Monk's pepper was used to treat menstrual cramps as early as the Middle Ages.
The ingredients of the monk's pepper extract have a positive effect on the metabolism of certain hormones and messenger substances. This leads to a relief of the monthly recurring ailments, such as mood swings, weight gain due to fluid retention in the tissue or the painful feeling of tension and swelling in the breasts.
