The company PhytonIQ from southern Burgenland has succeeded in growing wasabi in a high-tech indoor farm.
Wasabi, which is considered one of the most difficult plants to cultivate, actually grows in clear, flowing mountain streams. These conditions are simulated in PhytonIQ's hydroponic systems.
In addition, Wasabi Pannonia grows completely without the use of pesticides, is resource- and especially water-saving, and grows vertically in the smallest of spaces.
Wasabi is a zero-waste plant, everything can be consumed – not only the rhizome, but also the leaves and stems.
