Warnings and precautions
In glaucoma patients, in severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. coronary heart disease, long QT syndrome, high blood pressure), pheochromocytoma and metabolic disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism, diabetes) as well as in patients who are treated with tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants and other potentially blood pressure-increasing medications, the application should only be carried out after consultation with the doctor after careful consideration of the benefits and risks.
hysan nasal spray, like all preparations of the same active ingredient class, should only be used with caution in patients with an increased reaction to sympathomimetic substances with signs of insomnia, dizziness, etc.
In case of chronic rhinitis, a longer-lasting continuous use of decongestants is not indicated. Frequent or prolonged use can increase the risk of atrophic rhinitis, and it can also lead to a reduction in effectiveness or to a rebound effect after sudden discontinuation.
In children, the application must be supervised by parents or adults.
Use of hysan nasal spray with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using, have recently taken / used or intend to take / use any other medicines.
In case of simultaneous use of potentially blood pressure-increasing medications (monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants), interactions can lead to an increase in blood pressure.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
hysan nasal spray must not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding unless your doctor considers it to be clearly necessary.
Driving and ability to operate machinery
Caution: This medicine may impair responsiveness and road safety.
You must not drive a vehicle because if xylometazoline-containing medicines against a cold are used for a longer period of time or in higher doses, systemic effects on the heart and circulation cannot be ruled out. In these cases, the ability to drive a motor vehicle and to operate machinery may be impaired.
