Our organic salmon comes from certified organic salmon farms in Norway, Ireland or Scotland. As is usual for these coastal regions, our organic salmon farmers also take advantage of the uniqueness of the fjord landscapes and the rocky coasts to grow the fish in the cool waters.
Aquacultures, such as those used for salmon farming, are not without controversy. It is therefore all the more important to pay attention to strict criteria and their consistent implementation. That is why organic farming is the minimum standard at followfish, which all our salmon products (organic salmon fillets with skin, organic salmon fillets without skin, Organic Salmon Nature (Smoked Fish), Graved Organic Salmon (Smoked Fish) Pizza Salmone Bio). The farm off the coast of Ireland is also certified by Naturland. This means that the growers work according to even stricter criteria than under the EU organic label.

Preparation note
Thaw the fillets, wash them, pat dry and season.
Steam: On a low heat for 10-12 minutes.
In the frying pan: Fry on medium heat for 6-9 minutes on both sides.
In the oven: preheat the fan to 180° C, cook for 7-10 minutes.

The big vision that was the impetus to found followfish in the first place in 2007: Stop overfishing and save the oceans! This is just as relevant today as it was then. Over 30% of the fish stocks are overfished, almost 60% are so intensively fished that only minimally stronger fishing would lead to an overfishing situation. Fish consumption is increasing every year. Sustainable fisheries do too, but unfortunately not as quickly as necessary. Fishing without sustainability is a dead end and can never be a solution to food issues of sustainable nutrition. Fishing more than grows back may have an economic advantage for one year, but it destroys the livelihoods of future years.
The MSC is a minimum standard for us.
Since legislators - i.e. governments - are failing globally to manage fisheries so that they function sustainably, the WWF, among others, founded the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) 24 years ago, the "Council to Save the Seas". The MSC rewards sustainable fisheries with certification. Even though it seems that a lot of fish is already MSC-certified in this country, only 15 percent of fisheries worldwide meet the 35 sustainability criteria of the MSC.
For us, the MSC is a minimum standard for all our fisheries. This is because he is pursuing the goal of trimming global fisheries systems to sustainability as quickly as possible. This forces him to make compromises.
