About the manufacturer:
Jean-Noël Bongrain, the founder of the group of companies, took over a family-run cheese dairy in Lorraine in 1956, which had previously only produced regional cheese specialities. Bongrain wanted to launch a completely new type of cheese on the market that would meet high taste demands and could be marketed nationwide. After five years of development, he began production and the consistently premium-brand-oriented distribution of Caprice des Dieux 'caprice of the gods' – the first soft cheese brand. It already had the creamy consistency and oval shape that is now widespread among soft cheese brands.
