In 1890, the Duke of Aosta, who had crossed the Alps, finally tasted this wine, which had become so famous in just 13 years. He loved it so much that he appointed Ruffino as the supplier to the Royal House. Today, the Riserva Ducale represents the tradition of Tuscan winemaking and is praised by sommeliers all over the world as the best example of a Sangiovese wine. Colour: Ruby red.
Bouquet: The bouquet is elegant, characterised by violets, cherries, wild berries and plums. Hints of spices such as tobacco, cloves and eucalyptus.
Tasting profile: The Riserva Ducale is balanced and consistent with delicate tannins. The lively acidity, typical of the Sangiovese grape, characterises this wine. The finish is persistent and a good structure completes the overall taste experience.

Food pairing:
The perfect food companion to traditional Tuscan dishes, especially grilled meat, fresh and filled pasta with hearty sauces and game.
