What are metavirulent® drops and what are they used for?
metavirulent® drops are a homeopathic medicinal product.
metavirulent® drops contain a combination of homeopathic single remedies that complement each other in their areas of application and medicinal profiles. The symptoms of feverish colds and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract are positively influenced by metavirulent® drops.
The effectiveness of homeopathic medicines depends primarily on the frequency of dosage (repetition of dosage) and less on the size of the dose (number of drops).
Areas of application
The areas of application are derived from the homeopathic medicines, these include:
- Flu and flu-like illnesses,
- feverish colds,
- inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (runny nose, sore throat, painful cough) and paranasal sinuses,
- stomach flu.
It is preferable to start taking the drops as soon as the first signs of illness appear, such as feeling run down, tiredness, hot flushes, headaches, muscle ache-like symptoms, a scratchy throat, sneezing or a blocked nose.

Homeopathy is understood as a regulatory therapy for acute and chronic diseases.
The areas of application are derived from the homeopathic medicinal profiles.
These include:
- Influenza and flu-like illnesses,
- feverish colds,
- inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (runny nose, sore throat, painful cough) and paranasal sinuses,
- stomach flu.
The use of this homeopathic medicine in the aforementioned areas of application is based exclusively on homeopathic experience.
In severe forms of these diseases, clinically proven therapy is indicated.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.
metavirulent® drops are a homeopathic combination remedy that is composed of the following single remedies: Influencinum nosode (autoclaved preparation from influenza A and B), Acidum L(+)-lacticum (right-rotating lactic acid), Aconitum napellus (blue monkshood), Ferrum phosphoricum (iron(III) phosphate), Gelsemium sempervirens (yellow jasmine), Luffa operculata (sponge gourd), Veratrum album (white hellebore), Gentiana lutea (yellow gentian).

What should you consider before taking metavirulent® drops?
metavirulent® drops must not be taken,
- if you are allergic to Influencinum nosode, Acidum L(+)-lacticum, Aconitum napellus, Ferrum phosphoricum, Gelsemium sempervirens, Luffa operculata, Veratrum album, Gentiana lutea or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
Warnings and precautions
In the case of fever that lasts for more than 3 days or rises above 39 °C, medical
clarification is urgently required.
If new symptoms occur, the medicine should be discontinued.
The use of the medicine does not replace a medical diagnosis or other medicines prescribed by a doctor. In the case of persistent or severe inflammation of the paranasal sinuses with headache and fever and severe feeling of illness, medical clarification is urgently required.
When taking homeopathic medicines, existing symptoms may temporarily worsen (initial reaction). Such reactions are usually harmless. If the symptoms do not improve, the medicine should be discontinued. After the initial reaction has subsided, the medicine can be taken again. If the symptoms worsen again, the remedy should be discontinued.
Any prolonged treatment with a homeopathic medicine should be monitored by a doctor experienced in homeopathy, as unwanted medicinal testing symptoms (new symptoms) may occur if the medicine is not indicated.
Children
The use of metavirulent® drops in children under 6 years of age is not recommended, as there is insufficient data available.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using, have recently taken / used or intend to take / use any other medicines.
No interactions with other medicines have been reported to date.
Taking metavirulent® drops together with food and drinkThe effect of a homeopathic medicine can be adversely affected by generally harmful factors in the lifestyle and by stimulants and luxuries.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
There is no evidence of any particular risk for use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Caution should be exercised when using during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Driving and using machinesmetavirulent® drops have no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
metavirulent® drops contain alcohol and lactose
This medicine contains 37 vol.-% ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 270 mg per dose, corresponding to 7 ml of beer or 3 ml of wine per dose.
Therefore, the preparation must not be given to alcoholics.
The alcohol content must be taken into account in pregnant or breast-feeding women as well as in children and patients with an increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.
Please only take metavirulent® drops after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to sugar.
How should the medicine be taken?
How should metavirulent® drops be taken?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:
When the first signs of illness appear, take 20–30 drops 1–3 times a day, in the acute stage take 10–20 drops every hour (maximum 12 times a day).
Use in children
Children aged 6–11 years:
Children should always be given as many drops diluted with water as they are years old, 1–3 times a day.
When the symptoms improve, the frequency of use should be reduced.
Children under 6 years of age:
The use of metavirulent® drops in children under 6 years of age is not recommended, as there is insufficient data available.
Drop directly onto the tongue and spread in the mouth with the tongue or take with a little liquid. Children under 12 years of age should always take the drops with a little liquid.
The duration of use depends on the clinical picture. Treatment should continue until the symptoms have completely subsided, preferably for 3–4 days longer.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 7 days, consult your doctor.
If you have taken more metavirulent® drops than you should
No cases of overdose have been reported.
If you forget to take metavirulent® drops
Do not take double the amount if you have forgotten to take the previous dose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
