What is Bioflair® and what is it used for?
The healthy human intestine is home to numerous bacterial species. They form the biological community of the intestinal flora and contribute to the utilisation of food and the production of vitamins.

Bioflair® provides a natural inhabitant of the human intestine, which is characterised by its rapid multiplication, its vitality and its resistance to antibiotics and other influences.

 

Application

Areas of application:
For the symptomatic and supportive therapy of acute, uncomplicated diarrhoea in adults and children over 12 years of age, in children from 2 to 12 years of age only on the instructions of a doctor.
In the event of disorders of the intestinal flora to support the reconstruction of natural conditions of a disturbed intestinal flora, such as after antibacterial therapy (antibiotics or others).

The recommended dose is:
Adults 1 capsule 3 times a day; children from 2 to 12 years 1 capsule 2 times a day.

WHAT IS BIOFLAIR AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR

BIOFLAIR provides a natural inhabitant of the human intestine, which is characterised by its rapid multiplication, its vitality and its resistance to antibiotics and other influences.
BIOFLAIR supports the natural colonisation of the intestine in the event of non-specific diarrhoea. Pathogenic germs are inhibited in their growth and are quickly expelled from the intestine.
Areas of application:
For the symptomatic and supportive therapy of acute, uncomplicated diarrhoea in adults and children over 12 years of age, in children from 2 to 12 years of age only on the instructions of a doctor. In the event of disorders of the intestinal flora to support the reconstruction of natural conditions of a disturbed intestinal flora, such as after antibacterial therapy (antibiotics or others).

What should you consider before taking it?

WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING BIOFLAIR?

BIOFLAIR must not be taken,

• if you are allergic to Enterococcus faecium SF68® or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
• in the event of disorders of the immune system (immunosuppression, e.g. HIV infection).

In the event of autoimmune diseases or existing serious gastrointestinal diseases (Crohn's disease, ulcers, tumours), use only on the instructions of a doctor.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking BIOFLAIR.

If diarrhoea persists for more than 48 hours, medical advice is required as soon as possible, as is the case with serious diarrhoeal diseases with suspected specific pathogens such as salmonella, shigella or others.
The general measures necessary for diarrhoeal diseases, such as sufficient mineral intake (electrolyte replacement), fluid intake and diet, should be observed.

If antibiotics are prescribed for oral administration at the same time, they should be taken at intervals of 2 hours.

If oral vaccinations are planned, BIOFLAIR should not be taken at the same time.

If the symptoms persist or if the expected success is not achieved by using the product, medical advice is required as soon as possible.

Taking BIOFLAIR together with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.

The effect may be reduced by antibiotics. Do not use at the same time as an oral vaccination.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Use is possible. A doctor will decide whether to use the product during pregnancy.

Driving and using machines
BIOFLAIR has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
BIOFLAIR contains lactose
This medicine contains lactose (milk sugar). Please only take BIOFLAIR after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to sugars.

How should the medicine be taken?

HOW SHOULD BIOFLAIR BE TAKEN?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
Adults 1 capsule 3 times a day, children from 2 to 12 years 1 capsule 2 times a day.
Method of administration:
Take with a little liquid (water, milk, fruit juice, NO hot drinks).
If you have difficulty swallowing, the capsules can also be opened and the contents mixed with milk, fruit juice or similar and taken. It is important to ensure that the liquid is not heated after mixing.

Duration of use:
In general, use for 7 days is indicated. Longer use may be advisable in individual cases after consultation with a doctor.

If you have taken more BIOFLAIR than you should
Poisoning after overdose is not known and is not to be expected even after a multiple of the recommended dose.

If you forget to take BIOFLAIR
Do not take twice the amount if you forget to take the previous dose.

If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

What side effects are possible?

Do not store above 25°C. At temperatures above 40 °C, Enterococcus faecium SF68® is rapidly inactivated.

Store the container in the outer carton in order to protect the contents from light and moisture.

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton after "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Use within 4 weeks after first opening.

What BIOFLAIR contains

• The active substance is:
  1 capsule contains at least 75 million live germs of Enterococcus faecium SF68® in dried form.
• The other ingredients are:
  Lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide.
  Component of the capsule shell: gelatine.

What BIOFLAIR looks like and contents of the pack

Colourless, transparent hard capsules with white contents.

Brown glass bottles with white plastic cap. The cap contains the note "Do not ingest". This note refers to the desiccant in the cap.

Packs of 20, 25, 2x25 and 3x20 pieces.
