Midro Tea is a herbal, stimulating laxative and is used for short-term treatment of occasional constipation (obstipation).

Application

Dosage for adults and children over 12 years: 1/4- 1 measuring spoon of Midro Tea is taken once a day with liquid after dinner. The individually correct dosage is the one that is required to obtain a soft-formed stool. Since Midro Tea is effective even in small amounts, it is advisable to start with 1/4 measuring spoon. The dosage can be increased individually up to a maximum of 1 measuring spoon. It is best to take it in the evening.

How is it used?

WHAT IS MIDRO TEA AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Midro Tea is a herbal, stimulating laxative.

Areas of application:
Midro Tea is used for short-term treatment of occasional constipation (obstipation).

Note

The herbal tea can be prepared with cold or lukewarm water, poured off after 20 minutes and drunk.

Ingredients

1 measuring spoon (1.6 g tea) contains: 1 - 1.2 g senna leaves, cut

What should you consider before taking it?

WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BEFORE TAKING MIDRO TEA?

MIDRO TEA must not be taken:
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to preparations made from senna leaves or any of the other ingredients (caraway, liquorice root, peppermint leaves, mallow flowers, strawberry leaves),
- in the case of intestinal obstruction, intestinal narrowing and/or intestinal atony,
- in the case of appendicitis,
- in the case of inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis,
- in the case of abdominal pain of unknown cause,
- in the case of severe fluid deficiency with water and electrolyte loss,

Special care must be taken when taking Midro Tea
In the case of constipation that lasts longer than 1 week, a doctor should be consulted.

Like all laxatives, Midro Tea should not be taken if there are unclear acute or persistent gastrointestinal complaints. If laxatives are needed every day, the cause of the constipation should be determined.
Taking laxatives that stimulate bowel activity (stimulating laxatives) for a period longer than the short-term use can lead to dependence with the need for increased dosages, intestinal atony with reduced function and increased intestinal sluggishness.
The preparation should only be used if the constipation cannot be remedied by a change in diet or by bulking agents (e.g. linseed, psyllium).
In the case of incontinent adults, prolonged skin contact with the stool should be avoided by changing the template frequently when taking Midro Tea.
Patients with kidney disease should pay particular attention to possible disturbances in the electrolyte balance.

Midro Tea is not recommended for children under 12 years of age, as there is insufficient experience.

When taking Midro Tea with other medicines
With prolonged use or misuse, potassium deficiency can increase the effect of certain medicines that strengthen the heart muscle (cardiac glycosides) and influence the effect of medicines against heart rhythm disorders (antiarrhythmics). Interactions with medicines that reverse the normal heart rhythm (e.g. quinidine) and with medicines that can lead to a special form of heart rhythm disorder (QT prolongation) are possible.
Potassium losses can be increased by the simultaneous use of certain medicines that increase urine output (diuretics), cortisone and cortisone-like substances (adrenal corticosteroids) or liquorice root.

Please note that this information may also apply to medicines that have been used recently.

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using any medicine.

There are no adequate studies on the use of Midro Tea during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Midro Tea should therefore not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines
Effects on the ability to drive and use machines are not known so far.

In the case of constipation that lasts longer than 1 week, a doctor should be consulted.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Midro Tea is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken more MIDRO TEA than you should
Painful intestinal cramps and severe diarrhoea with the consequence of water and salt loss can occur. In case of overdose, please inform a doctor immediately. He will decide which countermeasures (e.g. supply of fluid and salts, monitoring of the electrolyte level, especially the potassium level) are necessary, if any. This is particularly important in elderly patients.
