Desloratadine Genericon contains desloratadine, which is one of the antihistamines. Desloratadine Genericon is an anti-allergic medicine that does not make you sleepy. It helps to control your allergic reaction and its signs.

Desloratadine Genericon improves the signs of allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by an allergy, for example hay fever or dust mite allergy) in adults and young people aged 12 and over. These signs include sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itching of the palate and itchy, red or watery eyes.

Desloratadine Genericon is also used to get rid of signs associated with urticaria (skin condition caused by an allergy). These include itching and wheals.

The elimination of these signs lasts a whole day and helps you regain your normal daily activity and sleep.

Warnings and precautions.
Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional before taking Desloratadine Genericon:

• If you have any other medical conditions, are pregnant or breast-feeding (see also section "Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility").
• if you have impaired kidney function.
• if you have a history or a family history of seizures.

Children and adolescents.
Do not administer this medicine to children under 12 years of age.

Taking Desloratadine Genericon with other medicines .
Desloratadine Genericon is not known to interact with any other medicines. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take any other medicinal products.

Taking Desloratadine Generic with food, drink and
Alcohol
Desloratadine Genericon can be taken independently of meals. You should only consume alcohol with caution during treatment with Desloratadine Genericon.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility .
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving and ability to operate machinery.
When taken at the recommended dose, this medicine is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Although drowsiness does not occur in most people, it is recommended that you refrain from activities that require special attention, such as driving or operating machinery, until it becomes clear how you respond to the medicine.

How to take the medicine?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and teenagers (12 years and over)
Take one film-coated tablet once a day.

How to take
Swallow the film-coated tablet whole with water during or between meals.

Duration of treatment
The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms.
See a doctor if your symptoms persist or worsen.

Treatment of intermittent allergic rhinitis (symptoms occur less frequently than 4 days per week or last less than 4 weeks) depends on your previous course of illness , may be stopped after symptoms have subsided and resumed if they recur.



If your allergic rhinitis is persistent (symptoms occur 4 or more days per week and last more than 4 weeks), a longer course of treatment is recommended.

For urticaria, the duration of treatment may vary from patient to patient. Therefore, you must follow your doctor's instructions.

If you have taken a larger amount of Desloratadine Genericon than you should Inadvertent overdose is not expected to cause any serious problems. If you have taken more Desloratadine Genericon than you should, contact your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional immediately.

If you forget to take Desloratadine Genericon
If you forget to take your dose on time, take it as soon as possible and then follow the normal treatment schedule again. Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten to take it before.

How should Desloratadine Genericon be stored?

Store this medicine out of the reach of children.

Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture and light.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton or blister after "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

You must not use this medicine if you notice any change in the appearance of the tablets.



Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. By doing so, you are helping to protect the environment

• The other ingredients are: Microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol (E421), magnesium stearate, hypromellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, titanium dioxide (E171), indigocarmine (E132).

Desloratadine Genericon 5 mg Film-Coated Tablets are light blue, round and biconvex (domed on both sides).

Desloratadine Genericon 5 mg Film-Coated Tablets are packaged in blister packs of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 15, 20, 21, 30, 50, 90 or 100 film-coated tablets.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
