Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour contain benzocaine as a superficial anaesthetic and the germ-inhibiting and germ-killing substances tyrothricin and benzalkonium chloride. Due to this combination of active substances, this medicinal product is used as an oral and pharyngeal therapeutic.
Application:
For the supportive treatment of mild to moderate inflammation of the pharynx and oral cavity, such as
- Throat inflammation and pain with difficulty swallowing .
- Throat inflammation .
- Inflammation of the oral mucosa and gums .
If you do not feel better or even worse after 2 days, consult your doctor.

What should you be aware of before taking Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour ?
Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Forest Berry Flavour must not be taken
- If you are allergic to tyrothricin, benzalkonium chloride, benzocaine or any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product listed in section 6, especially if you are allergic to paragroups or quaternary ammonium salts.
- for larger fresh wounds in the mouth and throat area.
- by children under 2 years of age, as the proper way of application (sucking) is not guaranteed here.

In the case of purulent tonsillitis with fever, the doctor should always decide whether Dorithricin Throat Tablets Wild Berry Flavour should be used in addition to the primary necessary treatment measures, such as antibiotic administration. The sole treatment of purulent tonsillitis with Dorithricin Throat Tablets Wild Berry Flavour is not a complete therapy and does not protect against late complications.
In cases of severe sore throat or sore throat accompanied by high fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, seek the advice of a doctor before use. Patients with a tendency to hypersensitivity reactions of the skin (allergic contact dermatitis) should avoid the use of Dorithricin Throat Tablets Wild Berry Flavour as there is a possibility of sensitisation. If the mucous membranes of the throat and pharynx swell, stop using Dorithricin Throat Tablets Wild Berry Flavour and consult a doctor immediately.
Preparations containing local anaesthetics in the form of a lozenge may cause numbness of the tongue and the mucous membranes of the mouth or throat and may impair swallowing.
Such effects have not yet been observed with Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour, but cannot be completely ruled out in younger children.
Children and adolescents
There are no studies on children under 12 years of age to prove the safety and efficacy of Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour in this age group. Therefore, no dosage recommendation can be given for children aged 6 - 11 years.
Use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended as controlled sucking cannot be guaranteed in this age group.
As the appropriate method of use (sucking) cannot be guaranteed in children under 2 years of age (infants and young children), Dorithricin Throat Tablets Wild Berry Flavour must not be taken by infants and young children.
Taking Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Forest Berry Flavour together with other Medicines.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicinal products.
When used as directed, no interactions with other medicinal products have been reported so far.
The effect of benzalkonium chloride may be reduced by anionic surfactants (e.g. toothpaste) applied at the same time.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

To date, there have been no indications of any harmful effects on fertility caused by Dorithricin Throat Tablets Wild Berry Flavour. Nevertheless, Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour should not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding as a precautionary measure or only after strict indication by the doctor.

Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour contains sorbitol, sodium and ponceau 4R (E 124)
This medicine contains 81 mg of sorbitol per lozenge.
Sorbitol is a source of fructose. Talk to your doctor before taking or giving this medicine if your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or if you have been diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) - a rare congenital condition in which a person cannot break down fructose.
Note for diabetics
The sugar substitute sorbitol contained in 1 lozenge corresponds to approx. 0.07 bread units (BE). Also suitable for diabetics.
This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per lozenge, i.e. it is almost "sodium-free".
This medicinal product contains traces of ponceau 4R (E 124) and may cause allergic reactions.
How should the medicine be taken?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:
Multiple times a day (every 2-3 hours) 1-2 lozenges. A daily dose of 8 lozenges should not be exceeded.
Children:
There are no studies on children under 12 years of age that prove the safety and efficacy of Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour in this age group. Therefore, no dosage recommendation can be given for children and adolescents aged 6 - 11 years.

For use in the oral cavity.
Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour should be dissolved slowly in the mouth. Do not allow to dissolve in the cheek pocket
and do not bite or swallow.
Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour should not be used just before or after brushing the teeth, as their effectiveness is reduced by toothpaste.
Treatment with Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour should be continued for one day after the symptoms have subsided.
If you have taken a larger amount of Dorithricin Throat Tablets Forest Berry Flavour than you should
When used as directed, poisoning with Dorithricin Throat Tablets Forest Berry Flavour can be ruled out and has not been reported so far.
After ingestion of a large number of lozenges, gastrointestinal complaints as well as increased methaemoglobin formation (especially in children) may occur and thus the ability of the red blood cells to absorb oxygen may be impaired. If a significant overdose is suspected - especially in children - please notify a doctor.
As countermeasures, the administration of plenty of water and charcoal tablets and, if necessary, appropriate measures against methaemoglobinaemia should be initiated by a doctor.
If you forget to take Dorithricin Throat Lozenges Wild Berry Flavour Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it previously, but continue your treatment as usual.

Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from light. Do not store above 25 °C.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
You must not use this medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the blister pack and the folded box after "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
