Kytta Pain Relief Ointment is a herbal medicinal product for the external treatment of
- joint and muscle pain
- pain and swelling in knee joint arthrosis caused by wear and tear or cartilage wear
- acute muscle pain (myalgia)

- Sprains, bruises and strains after sports and accident injuries
Kytta Pain Relief Ointment is used in adults, adolescents and children from 3 years of age.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 3-4 days, consult your doctor.
What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What you should be aware of before using Kytta Pain Relief Ointment?
Kytta Pain Relief Ointment must not be used
- if you are allergic to comfrey, peanut, soya or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. Kytta Pain Relief Ointment must not be applied to open wounds.
Warnings and Precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Kytta Pain Relief Ointment.
Do not apply to irritated skin or open wounds. The application must only be made on intact skin. Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
Wash hands thoroughly after application.
Patients using Kytta Pain Relief Ointment for the first time should test the medicine on small areas, e.g. the wrist, to see if it is tolerated.
Seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve within 3 - 4 days.

Children aged 3 to 6 years should only be used on the advice of a doctor.
No clinical data are available on efficacy and safety or dosage in children under 3 years of age. As there is insufficient data, the use in children under 3 years of age cannot be recommended.
Use of Kytta Pain Relief Ointment with other medicines
No interactions with other medicines are known so far.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
As there are insufficient data, its use during pregnancy and breast-feeding cannot be recommended.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Driving and ability to operate machinery
Kytta Schmerzsalbe has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery.
Kytta Pain Relief Ointment contains parabens, peanut oil, benzyl benzoate and cetyl stearyl alcohol.Parabens may cause allergic reactions, including delayed reactions.
Cetylstearyl alcohol may cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).Peanut oil: Kytta Pain Relief Ointment must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to peanut or soya.
Benzyl benzoate may cause local irritation. Benzyl benzoate may increase jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes) in newborns (up to 4 weeks of age)
How should the medicine be taken?
How to use Kytta Pain Relief Ointment?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Adults, adolescents and children aged 3 years and over:
Depending on the size of the part of the body to be treated and the severity of the symptoms, apply a large amount of the ointment to the affected part of the body 2 to 4 times a day, according to the area of pain, and massage in carefully so that a thin film of ointment forms on the skin.
As a guideline, the following amounts are recommended:
- for the treatment of ankle injuries and knee joint arthrosis: 2 g (equivalent to an ointment strand of 6 cm).
- for the treatment of back pain: 4 g (equivalent to an ointment strand of 12 cm). The affected joint can be supported with a bandage after application of the ointment, if necessary. Airtight, sealing dressings should be avoided.

Use in children
In children 3 to 12 years of age, the duration of use is limited to 7 days.
Use in children 3 to 6 years of age should only be on the advice of a doctor.
Children under 3 years of age:
No clinical data are available on the efficacy and safety or dosage in children under 3 years of age. As there is insufficient data, use in children under 3 years of age cannot be recommended.
If you have used a larger amount of Kytta Pain Relief Ointment than you should
No cases of overdose are known.
If you have forgotten to use Kytta Pain Relief Ointment
Do not use twice the amount if you have forgotten to use it before.
If you stop using Kytta Pain Relief Ointment
It is safe to interrupt or stop treatment early.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
What are the possible side effects?
How to store Kytta Schmerzsalbe?
Do not store above 30°C.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use this medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and label after "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
After opening the original cap, do not use the contents of the tube for more than 1 year.
Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

What Kytta Pain Relief Ointment contains
- The active substance is: Liquid extract of fresh comfrey root
100 g contain 35 g liquid extract of fresh comfrey root (Symphyti radix recens, drug extract ratio (DEV) 1:2), extraction agent: ethanol 60 % (v/v)
- The other ingredients are:
Parabens ((iso)butyl, ethyl, methyl, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, phenoxyethanol), cetyl stearyl alcohol, glycerol monostearate, sodium dodecyl sulphate, peanut oil, purified water, lavender oil, lavender oil, lavender oil.l, purified water, lavender oil, spruce needle oil, perfume oil special (contains benzyl benzoate, rosemary oil).

Beige-white ointment.
An aluminium tube with a screw cap contains 12.5 g, 50 g, 100 g or 150 g of ointment.Unscrew the cap, turn it upside down, push in the sealed tube with a twisting motion.
