miradent xylitol chewing gum sustainably reduces the development of caries with its cleansing and plaque-inhibiting effect - especially after eating.   Xylitol forms complexes of calcium and salivary proteins in the oral cavity, which lead to a remineralisation of the hard tooth substance. With sufficient xylitol intake, new plaque does not form on the teeth. This prevents the development of caries and loosens and removes existing plaque. Xylitol produces a cooling effect on the tongue, similar to the refreshing taste of menthol. Xylitol cannot be utilised by the bacteria in the oral cavity, thus it has no caries-producing effect.   These mechanisms can lead to a reduction in the incidence of caries of up to 100%.  miradent Xylitol chewing gum is 100% sweetened with xylitol and therefore has a positive effect by:
