Dr. Böhm® Gelenks complex film-coated tablets have been specially developed for people with joint wear and tear (osteoarthritis). This wear and tear is one of the main complaints of our society and occurs sooner or later in almost everyone, as joint cartilage is subject to a natural wear and tear process. However, joint wear and tear is not just a question of age. Triggers include obesity, lack of exercise, predisposition, poor posture or physical stress in work and sport. Just like any other part of our body, joints, cartilage, ligaments and intervertebral discs need certain dietary nutrients on a regular basis to stay functional. As a special feature, Dr. Böhm® Gelenks complex film tablets contain a natural collagen complex with hyaluronic acid. These substances are further indispensable joint building substances in our body. Collagen is a fibrous compound that gives cartilage, ligaments, tendons and bones their strength and elasticity. The cushioning part of the joint as well as the intervertebral discs consist mainly of collagen type II. This acts like a link or putty substance that holds the cartilage together elastically. Hyaluronic acid - also known as synovial fluid - is one of the most important components of joint fluid, to which it owes its viscosity (thick fluid). This reduces the friction between the cartilages and absorbs the stress during movements. The cartilage thus remains elastic and smooth. MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a special supplier of biologically active sulphur. Joints also depend on a regular supply of sulphur, as this is essential for the formation of collagen as well as for the strength of cartilage. From a nutritional point of view, attention should also be paid to the intake of selenium, manganese and vitamin E. These optimise the effect of the joint nutrients mentioned above by protecting the cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Application

During the first two weeks, 1 tablet should be taken 3 times a day, unchewed, with some liquid, preferably with or after a meal, to ensure nutrient saturation. Subsequently, the intake of 2 tablets daily over a period of at least 3 months is recommended as a build-up dose. Afterwards, a maintenance dose of 1 to 2 tablets daily can be taken as needed in the long term for continuous nutrient supply to the joints.
