Venoruton contains the active substance oxerutin, which belongs to a group of medicines that protect blood vessels (so-called systemic vasoprotectors).

What is Venoruton and what is it used for?

Venoruton contains the active substance oxerutin (=O-(-hydroxyethyl)-rutoside), which belongs to a group of medicines that protect blood vessels (so-called systemic vasoprotectors).
Venoruton stabilises the vessel wall, which leads to a reduction in the permeability of the vessels and subsequently to a reduction in swelling (oedema).

What is Venoruton used for?
This medicine is used for the supportive treatment of the complaints:
- in diseases of the leg veins, such as:
- water retention (oedema) and swelling
- pain, cramps or tingling in the legs, "tired and heavy legs".
- in haemorrhoids.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What you should be aware of before taking Venoruton?

Venoruton must not be taken
- if you are allergic to oxerutin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Venoruton.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you
- suffer from other illnesses or allergies,
- take other medicines, including those you have bought yourself,
- are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are currently breast-feeding.

If the symptoms persist or if the expected success from the application does not occur, please seek medical advice as soon as possible.

In order to ensure the best possible treatment success, in addition to taking
Venoruton, you should conscientiously carry out all other measures that your doctor has recommended, such as wrapping your
legs or wearing compression stockings.

Venoruton is not indicated for water retention in the legs (oedema) due to heart, liver or
kidney disease.

Children and adolescents
The use of Venoruton preparations is not recommended in children and adolescents.

Taking Venoruton with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take any other medicines, including medicines or food supplements obtained without a doctor's prescription.You should inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines or if you intend to take or use any other medicines, including medicines or food supplements that are available without a doctor's prescription.

Interactions with other medicinal products are not known.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking this medicine.

For reasons of special caution, venoruton should not be taken during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Lactating women should ask a doctor for advice before taking venoruton.

Driving and ability to operate machines
Venoruton has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and operate machines.

In rare cases, fatigue and dizziness have been reported in users of this product. Patients affected by this are advised not to drive or operate machinery.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to take Venoruton?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist
if you are not sure.

Follow these instructions carefully.

For ingestion.
Swallow unchewed with sufficient liquid during meals.

The recommended dose is 2 tablets per day (1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening or 2 tablets at once either in the morning or in the evening).

Mostly a treatment of 4 to 8 weeks is sufficient. The effect lasts beyond this period.

If you have taken more Venoruton than you should
In case of accidental ingestion, tell your doctor immediately.
If you forget to take Venoruton
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before. Instead, continue the treatment as usual.

If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

One tablet contains: 500 mg O-(beta-hydroxyethyl)-rutoside (= oxerutin).
- The other ingredients are: Macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed
silicon dioxide.
