What is Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment and what is it used for?
Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment contains the active ingredients ethanolic brewer's yeast thick extract and shark liver oil.
For haemorrhoidal disorders.
Hemorrhoids are nodular enlargements of the veins in the anal region. They can occur inside or just outside the anus. Depending on their location, haemorrhoids cause bleeding (usually bright red blood on the stool), itching, burning and oozing as well as dull pressure and pain in the rectum.
Sperti Preparation H is an anti-inflammatory medicine for the treatment of haemorrhoidal disorders and shrinks haemorrhoids, relieves pain, eliminates burning, itching and stinging.
Even at the first signs of haemorrhoidal disease, treatment should be started in time to achieve a quick and lasting effect.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 14 days, consult your doctor.

Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment must not be used if you are allergic to ethanolic brewer's yeast thick extract, shark liver oil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. Other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions

Children and adolescents
No studies are available on the use of Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment in children and adolescents.
Therefore, the use of Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Use of Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment together with other medicinal products
No known interactions.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
The preparation can also be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment contains lanolin, methyl and propyl para-hydroxybenzoate and butylated hydroxytoluene (E 321).
Wool wax may cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
Methyl and propyl para-hydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions, including delayed reactions.
Butylated hydroxytoluene (E 321) may cause localised skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis), irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes.
How should the medicine be taken?
How should Sperti Preparation H Haemorrhoidal Ointment be used?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
For superficial and rectal use.
The recommended dose is:
Adults: liberal application in the evening and morning and after each bowel movement. Apply ointment to the haemorrhoidal area or insert into the anus using the applicator.
Applicator
Screw the applicator onto the tube, fill with ointment and insert into the anus. To facilitate insertion into the anus, the applicator should be
smeared with ointment several times. The lateral openings of the applicator result in better ointment distribution. Clean thoroughly after use.
The treatment should not be interrupted immediately after the first symptoms of the disease have subsided , but should be continued for at least 5 days in order to specifically build up the damaged skin tissue.

- Ethanolic brewer's yeast thick extract (skin respiratory factor 7050 E) and shark liver oil . 100g ointment contains 1 g ethanolic brewer's yeast thick extract and 3 g shark liver oil (shark liver oil and fish oil in the ratio 1:1).
- The other ingredients are:
Wool wax, isocream absorption base (wool wax, lanolin alcohol, paraffinum liquidum, petrolatum, ozokerite, butylated hydroxytoluene (E 321)), paraffinum liquidum, methyl para-hydroxybenzoate, propyl para-hydroxybenzoate, thyme essential oil, whitees vasilin, glycerine
