Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" tablets contain high quality medicinal activated charcoal produced by special carbonisation of plant materials. Due to its large surface area, it has a high binding capacity. In particular, toxic substances, viruses, bacteria and their poisonous products are bound.
Carbo medicinalis ,,Sanova" tablets are used for diarrhoea, especially when travelling in countries with an increased hygiene risk. Medicinal charcoal is excreted naturally together with the adsorbed pollutants.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What SHOULD YOU NOTE BEFORE TAKING CARBO MEDICINALIS "SANOVA"?
Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" must not be taken
- if you are allergic to medicinal charcoal or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. other ingredients of this medicinal product
- in the case of severe constipation and suspected intestinal obstruction

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Carbo medicinalis "Sanova".

Particular caution is required when taking Carbo medicinalis "Sanova",
- if you have a tendency to bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract (in the case of stomach or duodenal ulcers, inflammatory diseases of the intestines). A black colouration of the stool may occur after the use of Carbo medicinalis "Sanova", but is harmless. The stool should continue to be observed for a few days after discontinuing Carbo medicinalis "Sanova". If the black colouring persists, consult a doctor to rule out bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract.
- In cases of suspected poisoning, increasing pain in the upper abdomen or the entire abdominal cavity, as well as feverish diarrhoea, consult a doctor.

Taking Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" together with other medicines
The effect of other medicines may be reduced due to the high binding capacity of Carbo medicinalis "Sanova".
Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" should not be administered together with medicines to induce vomiting, nor is it advisable to take the tablets together with medicines for diarrhoea containing tannin.
In the case of the oral antidiabetic chlorpropamide (medicinal product against diabetes) and cardiac glycosides (medicinal product against heart failure), the absorption from the intestine is inhibited by medicinal charcoal by up to 90%, it is therefore recommended to take these medicinal products 2 hours before Carbo medicinalis "Sanova", or several hours later with Carbo medicinalis "Sanova". Other medicines should be taken fasting at least one hour before Carbo medicinalis "Sanova".
The use of medicinal charcoal may reduce the reliability of oral contraceptives ("the pill"), which may necessitate an additional method of contraception after the use of medicinal charcoal.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.

It is possible to use Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Do not drive or use machinery
Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" - Tablets have no effect on the ability to drive or use machinery.

How should the medicine be taken?

HOW TO TAKE CARBO MEDICINALIS "SANOVA"?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Treatment of diarrhoea:

Dosage:
The recommended dose is 4
tablets 3 times a day for adults, teenagers and children aged 2 years and over.

How to use:
The tablets can be taken chewed or unchewed with some liquid.
For infants, the tablets should be administered well crushed with viscous or mushy
food if possible, preferably without milk or sugar.

Duration of use:
Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" should be used until normalisation of bowel movements.
If there is no improvement after 3 days, you must consult a doctor.

If you have taken a larger amount of Carbo medicinalis "Sanova" than you shouldconstipation may occur. This can be counteracted by the use of laxatives.

If you forget to take Carbo medicinalis "Sanova"
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.

If you stop taking Carbo medicinalis "Sanova"
It is safe to interrupt or stop treatment early.
