What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What should you bear in mind before taking Sinupret juice?
Sinupret juice must not be taken
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to gentian root.to gentian root, cowslip flowers with calyxes, sorrel herb, elderflower, verbena or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Sinupret Juice.
If shortness of breath, fever or purulent sputum occurs, a doctor must be consulted.
Caution is advised in patients with gastritis and those with a sensitive stomach.
Children
Use in children under 2 years of age is not recommended due to lack of data.
Take Sinupret Juice with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
No interactions are known.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking this medicine.
Due to insufficient data, the use of this medicinal product is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Trafficability and ability to operate machinery
No studies have been conducted on the effects on trafficability and ability to operate machinery.
Sinupret juice contains alcohol.
The total alcohol content is 8 % (V/V) ethanol (alcohol). The single dose (7 ml) contains up to 0.44 g alcohol corresponding to 11 ml beer, 5 ml wine per dose.
There is a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism.
The alcohol content must be taken into account in alcoholics, pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.
Sinupret juice contains maltitol.
Please only take Sinupret Juice after consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from a sugar intolerance.
7.0 ml Sinupret juice contains 5.5 g maltitol solution corresponding to approx. 0.35 bread units (BE).
If you have to follow a diabetes diet, you should take this into account. The calorie value is 2.3 kcal/g maltitol solution. Maltitol solution may have a mild laxative effect.
How should the medicine be taken?
How should Sinupret juice be taken?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:
3 times daily 7.0 ml
Children 6 - 11 years:
3 times daily 3.5 ml
Children 2 - 5 years:
3 times daily 2.1 ml
A measuring cup is enclosed.
How to use
To take
Sinupret juice is taken 3 times a day (morning, noon and evening) undiluted or in a little water. If necessary, rinse with liquid (no alcohol), preferably a glass of drinking water. Sinupret juice can be taken with food, drinks or independently of meals. People who are sensitive to the stomach should take Sinupret juice after a meal.
Shake before use.

Use in children

If you have taken a larger amount of Sinupret Juice than you should
An overdose may cause stomach upset, vomiting or diarrhoea.
Contact your doctor.
If you forget to take Sinupret Juice
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.
If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
You must not use this medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and the container (label) after "use by:" or "used by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In this way, they contribute to the protection of the environment.
Stable for 6 months after opening.
Do not store above 25°C after first opening.

What Sinupret juice contains
The active ingredients are:
100 g (82.64 ml) contain
10 g liquid extract (drug extract ratio 1:11) from a mixture of 0.069 g gentian root (Gentianae radix), 0.207 g verbena (Verbenae herba), 0.207 g sorrel herb (Rumicis herba), 0.207 g elderflower (Sambuci flos), 0.207 g calyxed cowslip (Primulae flos cum calycibus), extraction agent: ethanol 59% (V/V).
Total ethanol content: 8%(V/V)
The other ingredients are:
Maltitol solution, purified water, ethanol 96%, cherry flavouring.
What Sinupret Juice looks like and contents of the pack
Sinupret Juice is light brown, clear and thick (syrup) with the smell of cherries.
Sinupret juice is available in 50 ml and 100 ml liquid packs.
Slight turbidity or flocculation may occur during storage, it does not affect the quality of the preparation.
Calibrated measuring cup with dosing divisions 2.1 ml, 3.5 ml and 7.0 ml is included.
