Prospan - Cough Syrup

With the power of ivy, Prospan loosens mucus, clears the bronchial tubes and soothes the cough. Prospan is purely herbal, well tolerated, suitable for all ages and available in various forms of application. The proven Prospan cough syrup effectively soothes coughs and tastes pleasantly fruity like wild cherry.
Children especially love it. It is ideal for use at home. Suitable for children from 1 month (up to 12 months after consultation with the doctor), without sugar, without alcohol and without colourings. Suitable for diabetics.

Application

Adults, adolescents and schoolchildren: 3-5 x 5 ml
Children from 1-5 years: 3-5 x 2.5ml
Infants from 1-12 months: 1-2 x 2.5ml The use of Prospan - Cough Syrup in infants should only take place after consultation with the doctor.

How is it applied?

WHAT IS PROSPAN® - CUGS JUICE AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Prospan® - Cough Syrup is a herbal medicinal product for loosening mucus in coughs associated with colds.

Prospan® - cough syrup makes it easier to cough up, relaxes the bronchial muscles and thus calms the cough.

If you don't feel better or even worse after 1 week, consult your doctor.

Ingredients

2.5ml liquid contains 17.5mg dry extract of ivy leaves extractant ethanol 30% (m/m). Contains sorbitol (sugar substitute) and potassium sorbate.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What YOU SHOULD NOTE BEFORE TAKING PROSPAN® - CUGS JUICE Prospan®. - Cough Syrup must not be taken- if you are allergic to dry ivy leaf extract or to other plants from the Aralia family (e.g. ginseng), or to other plants.ginseng) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.2 of 5Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Prospan® - Cough Syrup.

If shortness of breath, fever or purulent sputum occurs, a doctor must be consulted.

The concomitant use of this medicine with medicines that suppress cough (antitussives such as codeine or dextromethorphan) without medical advice is not recommended.

Caution is recommended in patients with gastritis or stomach ulcers.

Children
The use of Prospan® - Cough Syrup in infants should only take place after consultation with the doctor.

The use in infants under 1 month of age cannot be recommended as there are insufficient data available.

Taking Prospan® - Cough Syrup with other medicines

No interaction studies have been carried out.

Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicinal products.

Taking Prospan® - Cough Syrup with food and drinks.br>Note for diabetics
2.5 ml of liquid contains 963 mg of sugar substitute sorbitol, which corresponds to 0.08 BE (bread units).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Since there are insufficient data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding cannot be recommended.
Driving and ability to operate machinery
No studies have been carried out on the effects on driving and ability to operate machinery.

Prospan® - Cough Syrup contains sorbitol
Prospan® - Cough Syrup contains 963mg of sorbitol as a 70% sorbitol solution. (sugar substitute) per 2.5 ml. Please only take Prospan® - Cough Syrup after consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from a sugar intolerance.

How should the medicine be taken?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents and children 6 years and over: 3 to 5 times daily 5 ml of juice

Children 1 to 5 years: 3 to 5 times daily 2.5 ml juice

Infants from 1 to 12 months: 1 to 2 times daily 2.5ml juice

The use of Prospan Cough Syrup in infants should only be done after consultation with the doctor.

The use in infants under 1 month of age cannot be recommended as there is insufficient data available.

Type of use:
To be taken with the enclosed measuring cup.
Shake the bottle well before each use!

Duration of use:
If the symptoms worsen or there is no improvement after one week, you should consult a doctor.

If you have used a larger amount of Prospan® - Cough Syrup than you should
In case of overdose, irritation of the digestive tract and possibly vomiting may occur. The symptoms are reversible when the preparation is stopped.

If you forget to take Prospan® - Cough Syrup
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before. Continue to take the medicine as prescribed by your doctor or as described in the leaflet.

What are the possible side effects?

HOW TO STORE PROSPAN® - CUSTOMS JUICE?

Do not store above 25°C.

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton and container (label) after "EXPIRED BY". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Store and use only for 6 months after first opening.

What Prospan® - Cough Syrup contains
- The active substance is: Dry extract of ivy leaves
2.5 ml of liquid contains 17.5 mg dry extract of ivy leaves.
(Ratio drug to extract 5 - 7.5 : 1, extraction agent: ethanol 30% (m/m)).

- The other ingredients are:
Sorbitol solution 70% (E 420, crystallising), potassium sorbate, anhydrous citric acid, xanthan gum, cherry flavouring, purified water.
What Prospan® - Cough Syrup looks like and contents of the pack
Prospan® - Cough Syrup is a light brown, slightly cloudy liquid for oral use with a sweet taste.Prospan® - Cough Syrup is a light brown, slightly cloudy liquid for oral use with a sweet, fruity taste and smell of cherry in an amber glass bottle with a spout and screw cap. A measuring cup with markings for 2.5 ml,
5 ml, 7.5 ml and 10 ml is enclosed.

Prospan® - Cough Syrup is available in packs of 100 ml and 200 ml of liquid.
