Balneum Hermal - Bath Salts must not be used

• If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to refined soya oil, soya, peanut or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
• In fresh purulent forms of psoriasis (pustular psoriasis,
  pustular psoriasis with pustules, partly with fever and disturbed
  general condition).

Full baths - i.e. also those with Balneum Hermal bath additive - must not be used in the case of

• major skin injuries and unclear acute skin diseases,
• severe febrile and infectious diseases,
• Heart muscle weakness (heart failure)

Warnings and precautions.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Balneum Hermal - bath additive.

- Full baths should only be used in cases of high blood pressure after consulting a doctor.

- Balneum Hermal - bath additive must especially not be used undiluted in the area of the eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of cold water. If irritation persists, an ophthalmological examination is advisable.

- There is an increased risk of slipping due to the oil film on the skin and the oil film in the bath or shower. Therefore, care should always be taken to ensure a firm hold or stand.

- Children should never be left unattended while bathing.

- To prevent residues of the bath oil from being deposited, the bathtub or shower tray should be cleaned immediately after each use of Balneum Hermal - bath additive with a conventional household washing-up liquid and then rinsed with hot water.

Use of Balneum Hermal - Bath Salve with other medicinesInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.

No studies have been conducted to detect interactions.
The additional use of soaps or syndets (soap-free skin cleansers) cancels out the effect of Balneum Hermal - bath additive.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Balneum Hermal - bath additive can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Driving ability and ability to operate machinery.
Balneum Hermal - bath additive has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery.

Balneum Hermal - bath additive contains butylated hydroxytoluene, propylene glycol and Benzyl benzoate
Butylhydroxytoluene (E 321) may cause local skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis), irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes.
Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.
The benzyl benzoate contained in the perfume oil may cause slight irritation to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes.

How should the medicine be taken?

How should Balneum Hermal - bath additive be used?

Always use this medicinal product exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

For a full bath (approx. 150 l) use two measuring cups (30 ml).

For a children's bath (approx. 25 l) use 1/3 measuring cup (5 ml).

For a partial bath (5 l), use approx. 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) Balneum Hermal bath additive.

To measure the required amount, the inner part of the screw cap can be used as a measuring cup.

Balneum Hermal - bath additive is used for patients of all age groups.

Type of application:
For use on the skin.
Balneum Hermal - bath additive is added to the bath water and mixed in well until an even distribution is achieved.

The bath water temperature should not significantly exceed 36 °C, as the refatting effect slowly decreases at higher temperatures. For the treatment of itching, the temperature should be 32 °C or as low as is perceived
to be comfortable.

Balneum Hermal bath additive can also be used for showering. The preparation is spread undiluted on the moistened skin and then showered off.
An additional use of soaps or syndets is not necessary and would reduce the refatting effect of Balneum Hermal - bath additive.

After bathing or showering, only dab the skin lightly with a towel. Heavy drying and rubbing reduce the effect of the treatment.
A subsequent treatment with creams and ointments is possible.

The duration of the bath is to be determined individually, but should not exceed 15-20 minutes. For babies and small children, an application time of only a few minutes is usually sufficient.

The frequency of application depends on the type and extent of the complaints. In general, the baths are recommended at intervals of 2-3 days. Daily bathing is also possible.

If you do not feel better or even worse while using this medicine, consult your doctor.

No special storage conditions are required for this medicinal product.Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label and outer carton after "Use by:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.

After opening, Balneum Hermal - Bath Salve should be used within 6 months.

Do not dispose of the medicine in sewage or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.
