The special formula of octenisept® Gel optimally moisturises the wound and forms a protective layer against bacteria. This protective layer prevents germs from entering the wound, as the germs are already inactivated in the gel. octenisept® Gel thus protects against infections and inflammations. In this way, natural wound healing is promoted and accelerated.
The cooling effect of octenisept® gel relieves acute itching.
octenisept® gel is colourless and does not burn when applied.
Inactivation of germs
octenisept® gel showed excellent inactivation of germs after only 1 minute of exposure time. This was determined in a quantitative suspension test with a high protein load ("dirty conditions").
The results showed that the germ activation in octenisept® gel was sufficiently effective against all test organisms after only 1 minute of exposure.
The good tissue tolerance of octenidine has been proven by many years of clinical experience and by clinical studies on chronic wounds. Non-irritant, non-sensitising, painless, no tissue toxicity, no inhibition of granulation or epithelialisation.
.Application
Immediately after the injury, first disinfect the wound with octenisept® . Then cover the wound with a thin layer of octenisept® gel. Cover with a bandage or plaster if necessary. Apply the wound gel 1-2 times daily until complete healing.
For hygienic reasons, the tip of the gel tube must not touch the wound or other surfaces.
