Echinaforce drops must not be taken
- if you are allergic to echinacea, composite flowers or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- in alcoholism
- of children under 4 years of age.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Echinaforce drops, especially if you have a condition such as tuberculosis, leukaemia, collagenosis, multiple sclerosis, HIV infection or other autoimmune disease.

The alcohol content of 65 % vol. must be observed.

Children
Use in children between 4 and 12 years of age should only take place after a careful risk-benefit assessment, as no broad study results are available.
Taking Echinaforce Drops with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
No interactions are known.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking this medicine.
Since there are insufficient data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.

Driving and ability to operate machinery
Echinaforce drops have no or negligible effect on driving and ability to operate machinery.

Echinaforce drops contain 65 vol. % ethanol (alcohol)
i.e. up to 458 mg per dose, corresponding to 11.6 ml beer or 4.8 ml wine. This poses a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism. This should be taken into account in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in children and patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to take Echinaforce drops?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents from 12 years
For prophylaxis: 20 drops 3 times a day.
For colds and febrile colds: 20 - 25 drops 3 to 5 times daily.

Use in children
Children from 4 years: 3 to 5 times 10 drops according to doctor's instructions.

In normal cases, continuous use should not exceed 2 months.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 14 days, consult your doctor.

If you have taken more Echinaforce drops than you should
If you have accidentally taken twice or three times the prescribed amount, this will not usually have any adverse effects. In this case, continue taking the medicine as described in the dosage instructions or as prescribed by your doctor. If you have significantly overdosed on this medicine, you should consult a doctor.

If you forget to take Echinaforce drops
Do not take double the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.
Continue taking the medicine as prescribed or as described in the dosing instructions.

What Echinaforce drops contain
- The active ingredients are: Extracts of red coneflower
1 g contains:
0.95 g tincture of red coneflower (extract ratio 1:12) and 0.05 g tincture of red coneflower root (extract ratio 1:11). The extracting agent is ethanol 57.3 % w/w (65 % vol.).
1 ml (= 905 mg) corresponds to 28 drops and contains the active ingredients of 240-440 mg fresh red coneflower herb and 12-23 mg fresh red coneflower root.
