Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Lemocin.
Please report any unusual reactions or side effects to your doctor immediately.
In the case of suppurative tonsillitis with fever, the doctor must decide which treatment is best for you (e.g. treatment with oral antibiotics) and whether Lemocin should also be used to relieve the symptoms.
The use of Lemocin alone is not sufficient treatment for severe bacterial tonsillitis (streptococcal angina) and cannot prevent possible sequelae.
If you notice any signs of swelling of the mucous membranes of the throat, please stop taking Lemocin immediately
and contact a doctor.
Local anaesthetics may impair swallowing and increase the risk of ingestion.
The doctor must be informed of the existence of a pregnancy.
If the complaints persist or if the expected success from the application does not occur, a medical consultation is required as soon as possible, at the latest after 4-5 days.
To avoid nausea, Lemocin should not be taken on an empty stomach.
Stop using Lemocin and consult a doctor if
- new infections caused by bacteria or fungi occur during therapy or
- prolonged or severe diarrhoea occurs or you suffer from abdominal cramps.
Store out of reach of children.
Taking Lemocin with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
The effect of cetrimonium bromide can be reduced by simultaneous application of toothpastes or other so-called anionic surfactants.
Taking Lemocin with food, drink and alcohol
Lemocin should not be taken during or just before drinking or eating. The local anaesthetic effect of lidocaine may cause numbness of the tongue and the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat and may impair swallowing. Do not eat or drink anything while the anaesthetic lasts.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy
Fertility damaging effects are not known. However, Lemocin should not be used during pregnancy for reasons of special caution.
Lactation
Since small amounts of lidocaine may pass into breast milk, it should not be used during breast-feeding.

the ability to operate machinery.
