1. WHAT ARE BEN-U-RON 250 MG SQUEEZES AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?

ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories contain the painkilling and fever-reducing active substanceparacetamol.
ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories are used in children aged 2 years and over for:
mild to moderately severe pain and/or fever.
Paracetamol must only be given to children under 3 years of age on a doctor's orders.

If you do not feel better or even worse after three days, contactyour doctor.

How is it applied?

What are BEN-U-RON 250 MG suppositories AND WHAT ARE THEY Used for?

ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories contain the analgesic and antipyretic active substance paracetamol.
ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories are used in children aged 2 years and over for:
mild to moderately severe pain and/or fever.
Paracetamol must only be given to children under 3 years of age on a doctor's orders.

If you do not feel better or even worse after three days, consult your doctor.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

WHAT SHOULD YOU BE AWARE OF BEFORE USING BEN-U-RON 250 MG SQUEEZES?
ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories must not be used
- if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. if you have a severe impairment of liver function
- if you have a certain hereditary metabolic disorder (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency)
- if you are a chronic alcoholic

Warnings and Precautions
.Please talk to your doctor before using ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories,
- if you have any impairment of liver function.liver function, such as hepatitis or a congenital disease with jaundice (Gilbert's syndrome)
- if you have a damaged kidney
- if you are chronically malnourished or undernourished
- if you have a history of liver disease. malnutrition
- excessive alcohol consumption (increase in liver-damaging effect)

Since in these cases there is no need for medicalSince in these cases medical supervision is required during the use of ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories, please inform the doctor accordingly if necessary.

To avoid the risk of overdose, it must be ensured that medicines taken at the same time do not contain paracetamol.
In higher doses (more than 650 mg per dose and/or more than 2000 mg per day) paracetamol may only be used on a doctor's prescription and only for as long as absolutely necessary.
Exceeding the recommended dose may cause very severe liver and kidney damage.

General information on painkillers:

Possible concomitant diseases
If fever persists, signs of a (second) infection or the symptoms persist for more than three days, medical supervision is required.

Painkiller headache
Prolonged high-dose, non-intended use of painkillers may cause headache, which must not be treated by increased doses of the medicine.

Kidney damage
In general, habitual use of painkillers, especially when combined with several analgesic agents, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.

Discontinuation of painkillers
If discontinued abruptly after prolonged high-dose (not intended) use of painkillers, headaches as well as fatigue, muscle pain, nervousness and vegetative symptoms may occur. These complaints subside within a few days. Until then, refrain from taking painkillers.
Please ask your doctor for advice if any of the points mentioned under "general advice" may apply.

Use of ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories with other medicinesInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or intend to use any other medicines.
Combination of paracetamol (the
possible interaction

drugs which, because of their
liver damage
properties, have an effect on the liver
such as: Anti-epileptic drugs
(phenytoin, carbamazepine),
Tuberculosis drugs (rifampicin),
John's wort preparations

Blood coagulation inhibitors
Blood coagulation inhibitors may have an effect in the case of ("anticoagulants")
prolonged use (more than one week)

Certain medicines for pain and
Delayed elimination of paracetamolFever (salicylamides)

Certain medicines for gout
.The breakdown of paracetamol may (probenecid)
be slowed, so the dose of ben-u-ron should be reduced

Determined antibiotic = medicine
The breakdown of the antibiotic may be delayed against infection (chloramphenicol)
(increased side effects possible)

Determined medicine against infections
The tendency to a reduction in white
blood cells (neutropenia) with HIV (zidovudine)
is increased. ben-u-ron should therefore only be used at the same time as zidovudine on medical advice.

Determined agent for lowering increased
absorption and effectiveness of blood lipid levels (cholestyramine)
Paracetamol may be reduced.

Alcohol Liver damage (see section "2. What should you be aware of before using ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories?"

Effects on laboratory tests:
The use of paracetamol may affect laboratory tests, such as uric acid determination, as well as blood sugar determination.

Use of ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories with food and alcohol
Do not drink alcohol while using ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Other dosage forms and strengths of ben-u-ron are available for pregnant and breast-feeding women.
Pregnancy:
If necessary, ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories may be used during pregnancy. You should use the lowest possible dose that will relieve your pain and/or fever and you should use the medicine for the shortest possible period of time. Contact your doctor if the pain and/or fever are not relieved or if you need to use the medicine more often.
Lactation:
Paracetamol passes into breast milk. Since adverse effects on the infant have not been reported so far, interruption of breast-feeding is not usually necessary.
However, the dosage should be kept as low as possible and the duration of application as short as possible.

Do not drive or use machinery
Paracetamol, the active substance in ben-u-ron, does not affect the ability to drive or use machinery. Nevertheless, caution is always advised after using a painkiller because of possible side effects.

How should the medicine be taken?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage
In principle, painkillers should be dosed as low as is necessary for a sufficient effect in order to keep the risk of the occurrence of undesirable effects as low as possible.

The time interval between two applications mustbe at least 6 hours.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:

Children under 2 years
ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories must not be given to children under 2 years of age. For this age group, ben-u-ron is available in other pharmaceutical forms and strengths.
Children under 3 years
Paracetamol may only be given to children under three years of age on a doctor's orders.

Children over 8 years of age, adolescents and adults
For these patient groups, ben-u-ron is available in other dosage forms and strengths.

Patients with liver dysfunction
In patients with liver dysfunction as well as Gilbert's syndrome (a congenital disease), the dose interval (=the time interval between 2 applications) must be extended. Paracetamol must not be used in severe hepatic impairment (see section 2).

Patients with renal impairment
In severe renal impairment, a dose interval of at least 8 hours must be observed.

Type and duration of use
If possible, insert suppository deeply into the anus after defecation. To improve lubrication, warm the suppositories in your hand or immerse them very briefly in hot water.
ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories should not be used for more than 3 days in a row. If the symptoms persist for more than 3 days, a doctor must be consulted.

If you have used a larger amount of ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories than you should.should
To prevent the risk of overdose, make sure that other medicines used at the same time do not contain paracetamol.

In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, paleness and abdominal pain generally occur within 24 hours.

A risk of poisoning exists in particular in elderly people, small children, people with liver disease, chronic alcohol abuse, chronic malnutrition or undernourishment and in the simultaneous intake of medicinal products that have an effect on liver function.

If you have used a larger amount of ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories than recommended, call a doctor immediately for help!

If you forget to use ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories forget
Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten to use it before. Apply the next dose at the usual time.

If you stop using ben-u-ron 250 mg suppositories
pain and possibly fever may return.
