What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What should you be aware of before taking Yomogi capsules?

Yomogi capsules must not be taken,
- if you are allergic to yeast, especially to Saccharomyces boulardii,
- if you are allergic to any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. other ingredients mentioned in section 6,
- by immunocompromised or hospitalised patients (due to severe illness or impaired/weakened immune system),
- by patients with central venous catheters.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Yomogi Capsules.

In case of diarrhoea, especially in children, replacement of fluids and salts (electrolytes) must be considered as the most important treatment measure. Diarrhoea in infants and young children requires consultation with a doctor.

If microbiological stool tests are carried out during treatment with Saccharomyces boulardii, this intake must be reported to the testing laboratory, as otherwise false-positive findings may be produced.

For diabetics, the intake of one hard capsule of Yomogi capsules is credited with 0.01 BE.

Children:
This medicinal product may only be used in infants and young children under 2 years of age on the express instructions of a doctor due to the lack of examinations.

Taking Yomogi Capsules with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.

The simultaneous intake of antimycotics (agents against fungal diseases) may impair the effect of Yomogi Capsules.

If monoaminooxidase inhibitors (certain drugs against depression) are taken at the same time, an increase in blood pressure is possible.

Please note that this information may also apply to recently used medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

No evidence of risks during pregnancy and breast-feeding has yet been found from the widespread use of yeast as a food.

Driving and ability to operate machinery
No effects are known.

Yomogi Capsules contain lactose
Yomogi Capsules contain 61.25 mg lactose per hard capsule. Please only take Yomogi capsules after consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from a sugar intolerance.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to take Yomogi capsules?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
Children 2 years and over and adults:
For the treatment of travellers' diarrhoea 1-2 hard capsules daily.
For the treatment of acute diarrhoea 1-2 hard capsules daily.
For tube feeding-induced diarrhoea, give the contents of 2 hard capsules per litre of nutrient solution daily.
Treatment should be continued for a few days after the diarrhoea has stopped to ensure the success of the treatment.
For acne, take 3 hard capsules daily.
For supportive treatment in chronic forms of acne, intake over several weeks is recommended, but if the symptoms of the disease persist, a doctor must be consulted.

Please take the hard capsules with sufficient liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water) before meals.

In principle, there are no known restrictions on the duration of use for yeast preparations.

If you have taken a larger amount of Yomogi capsules than you should
have
the preparation should be discontinued if hypersensitivity reactions occur.

If you have forgotten to take Yomogi Capsules
If you have once taken one hard capsule too few or have forgotten to take it once, take Yomogi Capsules again the next time according to the instructions for use.

If you stop taking Yomogi Capsules
You can stop taking Yomogi® Capsules at any time.

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

You must not use this medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

What Yomogi capsules contain
The active substance is:
1 hard capsule contains:
250 mg dry yeast from Saccharomyces boulardii (synonym: Saccharomyces cerevi-siae HANSEN CBS 5926), corresponding to min. 2.5 x 109 viable cells

The other ingredients are:
Aqueous lactose, magnesium stearate, chlorophyllin-copper complex E 141, titanium dioxide E 171, iron oxide hydrate E 172, gelatine, sodium dodecyl sulphate
