WICK DayMed Duo contains the active ingredients ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and pseudoephedrine, a vasoconstrictor drug used to treat swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose.

Application
What is WICK DayMed Duo and what is it used for?
WICK DayMed Duo contains the active ingredients ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and pseudoephedrine, a vasoconstrictor drug used to treat swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose.
- Ibuprofen has an analgesic and antipyretic effect and reduces swelling.
- Pseudoephedrine has a vasoconstrictor effect that causes swelling of the nasal mucosa.
WICK DayMed Duo is used for the symptomatic treatment of swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose and sinuses associated with headache, fever and/or cold or flu-related pain.
WICK DayMed Duo is used in adults and adolescents over 15 years of age.
Only use this combination medicine if you have both a blocked nose and pain or fever. If you have only one of these complaints, do not use this medicine.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 days in adolescents or after 5 days in adults, contact your doctor.
How is it applied?
What is WICK DayMed Duo and what is it used for?
WICK DayMed Duo contains the active substances ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and pseudoephedrine, a vasoconstrictor drug used to treat swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose.
- Ibuprofen has an analgesic and antipyretic effect and reduces swelling.
- Pseudoephedrine has a vasoconstrictive effect, which causes a decongestion of the nasal mucous membrane.
WICK DayMed Duo is used in adults and adolescents over 15 years of age.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What should you be aware of before taking WICK DayMed Duo?
WICK DayMed Duo must NOT be taken,
- if you are allergic to ibuprofen, pseudoephedrine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. any of the other ingredients of this medicine mentioned in section 6,
- if you are under 15 years of age,
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding,
- if you have ever had an allergic reaction (such as whistling breath, worsening of asthma, itchy runny nose, facial swelling or hives) after taking acetylsalicylic acid/ASS (eg.: Aspirin) or other painkillers, antipyretic or anti-inflammatory medicines,
- if you have or have previously had a stomach ulcer,
- if you have previously had a perforation or bleeding associated with the use of NSAIDs,
.br>- if you have severe liver or kidney failure,
- if you have severe heart failure,
- if you have severe heart or circulatory problems (heart disease, high blood pressure, angina, fast heartbeat), hyperthyroidism, diabetes or a phaeochromocytoma (a tumour of the adrenal gland),
- if you have had a heart attack,
- if you have inadequately controlled high blood pressure,
- if you have had a stroke or are at increased risk of having a stroke,
- if you have a history of seizures,
- if you are at risk of having a stroke,
- if you have a history of seizures,
- if you are at risk of having a stroke,
- if you have a history of seizures,
- if you have a history of seizures,
- if you have a history of seizures
- if you have a history of seizures,
- if you have unexplained blood disorders,
- if you have glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure),
- if you have urinary symptoms due to prostate problems,
- if you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease that causes, for example, joint pain and skin disorders. If you are using any of the following medicines:
- Acetylsalicylic acid/ASS (e.g.: aspirin) (e.g.: aspirin) (e.g.: aspirin) (e.g.: aspirin) (e.g.: aspirin).E.g.: aspirin) (more than 75 mg daily) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or other painkillers,
- other vasoconstrictor medicines used to treat swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose, such as. Phenylpropanolamine, phenylephrine, ephedrine or methylphenidate,
- non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors (known as MAO inhibitors, which are used to treat Parkinson's disease or depression) - even if you have used them in the last two weeks.
WICK DayMed Duo must not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking WICK DayMed Duo,
.- if you have asthma or are at risk of an asthma attack,
- if your doctor has told you that you have a blood clotting disorder,
- if you are taking blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin or low-dose medicines. e.g. warfarin or low-dose acetylsalicylic acid/ASS (e.g.: aspirin),
- if you are taking medicines that could increase the risk of stomach ulcers or bleeding, such as. e.g. steroids, antidepressants from the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
- (SSRIs, e.g.. (SSRIs, e.g. fluoxetine, paroxetine) or NSAIDs including acetylsalicylic acid/ASS (e.g. aspirin),
- if you have psychosis or diabetes,
- if you have a previous gastrointestinal condition (such as ulcerative colitis or diabetes). ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease),
- if you have kidney or liver problems,
- if you are taking medicine for migraines.
Anti-inflammatories/painkillers such as WICK DayMed Duo may be associated with a slightly increased risk of heart attack ("myocardial infarction") or stroke, especially when used in high doses. Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment.
You should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist before taking WICK DayMed Duo if you:
- have a heart condition, including heart failure and angina (chest pain), or have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral arterial disease (blood flow problems in the legs or feet).You may have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral arterial disease (blood flow problems in the legs or feet due to narrowed or blocked arteries) or any type of stroke (including mini-stroke or transient ischaemic attack, "TIA").
- or if you think you may be at increased risk of any of the above conditions (e.g. if you have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, or a family history of heart disease or stroke, or if you are a smoker).
- If you get a feverish generalised skin redness associated with pustules, stop taking WICK DayMed Duo and contact a doctor immediately. See section 4.
During treatment you should refrain from drinking alcohol.
In dehydrated adolescents there is a risk of kidney dysfunction.
If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor.
Children and adolescents
WICK DayMed Duo must not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.
Taking WICK DayMed Duo with other medicines
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
WICK DayMed Duo must not be used if you are taking the following medicines:
- aspirin
- other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- other painkillers or antipyretic medicines
- monoamine oxidase inhibitors (so-called. MAO inhibitors used to treat Parkinson's disease or depression) if taken in the last 2 weeks
- other vasoconstrictor medicines used to treat swelling of the nasal mucous membranes (e.g. ingested or directly taken medicines). e.g. phenylpropanolamine, phenylephrine or ephedrine taken or applied directly to the nose)
- WICK DayMed Duo may interfere with or be affected by other medicines. For example:
- Drugs that have an anticoagulant effect (i.e. thin the blood/prevent blood clotting e.g. aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid, warfarin, ticlopidine,)
- Medicines that lower high blood pressure (ACE inhibitors such as captopril, beta-blockers such as atenolol-containing medicines, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan)
- Medicines to treat cardiac arrhythmias, angina, heart failure or fluid retention (e.g. cardiac glycosides), as WICK DayMed Duo may reduce their effects or increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmia, high blood pressure or kidney dysfunction.
- Ciclosporin (an immune-suppressing drug), as there may be an increased risk of kidney dysfunction.
- Medicines used to treat depression (lithium, tricyclic antidepressants) may increase the risk of side effects.
- concomitant use of phenytoin may increase serum levels of these medicines. Monitoring of phenytoin serum levels is not usually necessary when used correctly (for a maximum of 5 days)
- other medicines to treat swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose or appetite-suppressing medicines, as these may increase the risk of side effects.
- Probenecid or sulfinpyrazone can delay the excretion of ibuprofen.
- Sulphonylureas (antidiabetics): although interactions with ibuprofen have not been described, as a precautionary measure, monitoring of blood glucose levels is recommended if taken at the same time.
- Medicines that increase the frequency of urination (diuretics/water tablets).
- Methotrexate in high doses (over 20 mg weekly), as this can increase the effect of methotrexate.
- Quinolone-type antibiotics, as the risk of seizures is increased.
- Ciclosporin, Tacrolimus and Trimethoprim
- Medicines for migraine
- Zidovudine (a medicine used to treat HIV).
- Heparin injections and Preparations containing Gingko biloba, as the risk of bleeding is increased here.
Some other medicines may also interfere with treatment with WICK DayMed Duo or be affected by it themselves. You should therefore always seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist before using WICK DayMed Duo with other medicines.
After taking pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, an acute increase in blood pressure may occur during surgery. You should therefore stop taking WICK DayMed Duo a few days before a planned surgical procedure and inform your anaesthetist or dentist.
Taking WICK DayMed Duo with food and drink.
Swallow the tablets preferably with a full stomach and some water.
Doping
The use of the medicinal product may lead to positive results in doping tests.
Pregnancy, lactation and procreation/parturition.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
WICK DayMed Duo must not be taken during pregnancy or breast-feeding. The active substances ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine can cause severe damage to the unborn child. The active ingredients have been shown to occur in breastfed infants of women who have taken these agents.
WICK DayMed Duo contains ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that can affect female fertility. This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the medicinal product.
Driving ability and ability to operate machinery.
WICK DayMed Duo has no known effect on the ability to drive or use machinery. In individual cases, dizziness or hallucinations may occur. This possibility must be taken into account.
WICK DayMed Duo contains:
- Sodium - this medicinal product contains 1.65 mg of sodium per tablet. If you are on a low-salt diet .
How should the medicine be taken?
How to take WICK DayMed Duo?
Always take WICK DayMed Duo exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
WICK DayMed Duo is for oral use only.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours if necessary. If the symptoms are more severe, take 2 tablets every 6-8 hours if necessary.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 6 tablets.
Preferably take the tablets with a full stomach and some water. Do not break or crush tablets.
Administration in children and adolescents
Do not use in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.
Treatment duration
This medicine is for short-term use only. You should take the lowest dose for the shortest period of time necessary to treat your symptoms.
Do not exceed the 5-day therapy for adults.
Do not exceed the 3-day therapy for adolescents (15-18 years).
If you do not feel better or even worse, contact your doctor.
If you have taken more WICK DayMed Duo than you should
If you have taken more WICK DayMed Duo than you should, or if children have taken the medicine by mistake,
always contact a doctor.strong>always contact a doctor or hospital near you for an assessment of the risk and advice on further treatment.
Symptoms may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting (possibly including blood), headache, ringing in the ears, confusion and eye tremors. At high doses, drowsiness, chest pain, palpitations, fainting, convulsions (especially in children), weakness and dizziness, blood in the urine, freezing and breathing problems have been reported.
If you forget to take WICK DayMed Duo
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.

What WICK DayMed Duo contains
- The active ingredients are: Ibuprofen (200 mg per tablet) and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (30 mg per tablet, corresponding to 24.6 mg pseudoephedrine).
- The other ingredients are:
microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinised starch (maize), povidone K-30, highly dispersed anhydrous silicon dioxide, stearic acid 95, croscarmellic acid, pseudoephedrine.acid 95, croscarmellose sodium, sodium dodecyl sulphate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 400, yellow iron oxide (E172), polysorbate 80 (E433), red iron oxide (E172), black iron oxide (E172), poly(vinyl alcohol) - partially soluble. hydrolysed, talc (E553b), macrogol 3350, mica-based pearlescent pigment (mixture of: Potassium aluminium silicate (E555) [mica] and titanium dioxide [E171]).

What WICK DayMed Duo looks like and contents of the pack
WICK DayMed Duo tablets are yellow, oval film-coated tablets (dimensions: approx. 15.6 mm x 7.7 mm).
The tablets are available in blister packs of 12, 20 or 24 tablets.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
