Dolobene ratiopharm gel is suitable for the supportive treatment of: Swelling, bruising and inflammation after blunt injuries to muscles, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments, joints, such as bruises and contusions, sprains and strains; tennis elbow, tendonitis, tendon sheath inflammation, bursitis.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 10 days, consult your doctor.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What should you be aware of before using Dolobene ratiopharm gel?

Dolobene ratiopharm gel must not be used
- if you are allergic to dimethyl sulphoxide, heparin sodium, dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. if you have asthma
- if your liver function is severely restricted
- if your kidney function is severely restricted
- if you have circulatory instability
.- during pregnancy and breast-feeding
- in children under 5 years

Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel do not apply to open wounds (see section 3 "How to use Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel?").

Warnings and precautions.
Please speak to your pharmacist before using Apply dolobene ratiopharm gel.

Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel Do not apply to mucous membranes (eyes, mouth, nose), open wounds or to diseased or pre-damaged skin (e.g. after irradiation, severe sunburns, surgical scars), as the isopropyl alcohol content may cause painful reactions.

In order to avoid undesirable effects from other substances, the skin should be cleaned before application of Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel should be cleaned and used immediately before and after the application of Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel no other medicines, cosmetics or chemicals are applied to the affected skin area.

During the application of the in Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel containing the active substance DMSO, increased photosensitivity may occur. During treatment with Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel you should therefore avoid intensive sun exposure and the use of solariums. If photosensitivity reactions (manifested as sunburn-like skin reactions) occur, discontinue the use of Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel and consult your doctor.

If the symptoms persist, if the symptoms are unclear or if the expected success of the application does not occur, a medical consultation is required as soon as possible.

Application of Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel together with other medicinal products.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.

Simultaneous use of the anti-inflammatory painkiller sulindac may cause nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

There is insufficient experience on the use of DMSO in pregnant women. Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel must therefore not be used during pregnancy.

The active ingredient DMSO passes into breast milk. Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel must therefore not be used during breast-feeding.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to use Dolobene ratiopharm gel?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

If not prescribed otherwise, follow the dosage exactly:
Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel should be applied 2-4 times daily to the affected areas.
About 3 cm of gel strand is generally needed on an area the size of a knee.

Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel must not be used in children under 5 years of age as no experience is available (see section 2 under "Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel must not be used").

Dolobene ratiopharm gel should be applied thinly to the area to be treated.Apply to the area to be treated and spread evenly.

The application area must be free of medicines, cosmetics or chemicals. Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel Do not apply to mucous membranes (eyes, mouth, nose), open wounds or to diseased or previously damaged skin (e.g. after irradiation, severe sunburns, surgical scars).

When applying under bandages: after applying the gel, do not apply the bandage until a few minutes after the gel has been largely absorbed into the skin or the alcohol has evaporated.

The duration of application depends on the severity and course of the complaints.
If your symptoms do not improve after 10 days of use, please consult your doctor.

If you have used a larger amount of Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel.If you have accidentally used large amounts of Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel, no overdose symptoms are to be expected.
If in doubt, contact a doctor, pharmacist or the nearest hospital.

If you stop using Dolobene ratiopharm - Gel.If you have forgotten
Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten to use it before.
Instead, just apply the usual following amount at the usual time.

Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the tube/container. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Shelf life after first opening: 12 months but not longer than the end of the shelf life.

Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

The active ingredients are: Dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO), heparin sodium, dexpanthenol

100 g gel contains:
Dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) 15 g
Heparin sodium 50,000 I.U.
Dexpanthenol 2.5 g

The other ingredients are:
Rosemary oil, mountain pine oil, citronella oil, Cremophor RH, Carbopol 980, trometamol, isopropyl alcohol, water.
