Dexpanthenol is a derivative of the vitamin pantothenic acid, which is characterised by properties that promote wound healing and protect the mucous membranes.

nasic - Nasenspray is used to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in the case of rhinitis and to support the healing of skin and mucous membrane lesions, episodic runny nose (rhinitis vasomotorica) and to treat nasal airway obstruction after surgical procedures on the nose.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What should you be aware of before using nasic - nasal spray?
nasic - nasal spray must not be used,

• If you are allergic to xylometazoline, dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6,
.
• If you have dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with bark formation (rhinitis sicca),
.
• for infants and young children under 6 years of age.
• for glaucoma (narrow-angle glaucoma),
• after operations in the nose and ear area (removal of the pituitary gland or
.
• surgical interventions in which the meninges were exposed).

Warnings and precautions.

• In patients treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) or
  determined mood elevating drugs (antidepressants) and other, potentially blood pressure increasing drugs,
.
• In patients with severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. coronary
  heart disease, high blood pressure (hypertension))
.
• If you have a heart condition (e.g. long QT syndrome),
.
• in patients with tumour of the adrenal medulla (pheochromocytoma),
• for metabolic disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism,
  diabetes).

As with all medicines, caution is advised in children and elderly patients.

Children
Long-term use and overdose, especially in children, should be avoided. Higher doses may only be used under medical supervision.

nasic - nasal spray contains a concentration of active ingredient intended for adults and schoolchildren and is therefore not suitable for babies and children under 6 years of age. Nasal sprays with a lower active ingredient content are available for this purpose.

Use of nasic - Nasal Spray with other medicines.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

When nasic - nasal spray is used at the same time as certain mood-lifting medicines (MAO inhibitors of the tranylcypromine type or tricyclic drugs), it is not recommended.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Use during breast-feeding should be avoided as it is not known whether the active substance xylometazoline hydrochloride passes into breast milk.

If used as intended, no adverse effects are to be expected.

nasic - Nasal Spray contains benzalkonium chloride.
Benzalkonium chloride may cause irritation or swelling in the nose, especially with prolonged use.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to use nasic - Nasal Spray?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

In adults and schoolchildren, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, one spray of nasic - nasal spray is inserted into each nostril as required up to 3 times a day with the bottle held vertically, breathing in lightly through the nose during the spraying process. The dosage depends on the individual sensitivity and the effect.
In children up to 14 years of age, the application must be supervised by parents or adults.

Pull the protective cap off the spray head.

Pump several times before first use until an even spray comes out. For all other applications, the dosing spray is immediately ready for use.

Insert the spray head as vertically as possible into the nostrils and pump 1 time each. After use, wipe off the spray head for hygienic reasons and replace the protective cap.

Pull off the longer protective cap. Unscrew the cap from the glass bottle and screw on the spray head. Then remove the protective cap for the spray head. Before first use, pump several times until an even spray comes out.

Before use, clean the nose thoroughly (blowing). Insert the spray head as vertically as possible into the nostrils and pump 1 time each. Inhale lightly through the nose. After use, wipe the spray head for hygienic reasons and replace the protective cap. For all other uses, the dosing spray is ready for immediate use.

Duration of use
Do not
use nasic - Nasal Spray for longer than 7 days without medical or dental advice. The doctor should always be consulted about the duration of use in children.
Continuous use of nasic - Nasal Spray can lead to chronic swelling and
exclusively to atrophy of the nasal mucosa.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of nasic - Nasal Spray is too strong or too weak.

If you have used a larger amount of nasic - Nasal Spray than you shouldIf you have used a larger amount of nasic - Nasal Spray than you should as a result of an overdose or accidental oral intake, the following effects may occur, especially in children:
dilation of the pupils (mydriasis), nausea, vomiting, blue colouring of the lips (cyanosis), fever, convulsions, cardiac and circulatory disturbances (tachycardia).(tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmia, circulatory collapse, cardiac arrest, hypertension), pulmonary dysfunction (pulmonary oedema, respiratory disorders), mental disorders. In addition, drowsiness, lowering of body temperature and coma may occur.
If such signs occur, consult a doctor immediately.

Can a habituation effect occur with nasic - nasal spray?
In the case of a long-lasting cold, long-term uninterrupted use should be avoided.
Use too frequently or for too long can increase the risk of drying out of the nasal mucous membrane.
If you forget to use nasic - Nasal Spray
Do not use twice the amount the next time, but continue to use as described in the dosage instructions.

What nasic - nasal spray contains

• The active ingredients are: Xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol 10 g solution contains 10 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 500 mg dexpanthenol.
  One spray puff of 0.1 ml solution (equivalent to 0.10 g) contains 0.1 mg
  xylometazoline hydrochloride and 5.0 mg dexpanthenol.
• The other ingredients are: 0.02 mg benzalkonium chloride per spray, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate
  (Ph. Eur.), purified water.
