Aunt Fanny Fresh Spelt Puff Pastry 270g

The Tante Fanny Fresh Spelt Puff Pastry is the tasty alternative to the classic puff pastry made from wheat flour and just as ideal for sweet and savoury delicacies. Simply unroll the dough, top or fill and bake - your strudels and creative biscuits are ready. And the whole thing even with 100% spelt flour and a tasty nutty note. Aunt Fanny - Fannytastically simple!

Recipe idea - Colourful dough squares with pesto

Ingredients for 6 squares:

  • 1 Pkg. Aunt Fanny Fresh Puff Pastry 270 g
  • 60 g dried tomatoes
  • 60 g herbs (e.g. basil and parsley)
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • 60 g cashews roasted
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • Salt and pepper ground
  • 1 red pepper seeded, cut into fine strips
  • .
  • 1 green pepper seeded, cut into fine strips
  • .
  • 80 g Tofu Smoked, diced
  • Some rocket for garnishing
  • .

Preparation
Step 1: Preheat oven to 200° C top/bottom heat and prepare dough according to package instructions.
Step 2: For the pesti, mix the dried tomatoes or herbs with 50 ml oil and 20 g cashews each, season with salt and pepper and season with a pinch of sugar.
Step 3: Unroll the dough directly onto the baking tray with the baking paper rolled along and cut once lengthwise and twice widthwise with a pastry wheel. With the tines of a fork, prick the dough several times in the middle.
Step 4: Spread the centre of three squares with 1 tbsp herb pesto each and top with red pepper and the tofu. Spread the other three squares each with 1 tbsp tomato pesto and top with green pepper and the remaining cashew nuts.
Step 5: Bake in the oven for approx. 20 min. on the middle shelf until golden brown. Garnish with rocket.

Tip: You can use different herbs for the herb pesto or mix them. The nuts or seeds used can also be varied according to taste. It is important to always roast the nuts beforehand.
