Organic prawns, raw, peeled, from organic aquaculture. The product is BIO, CLIMANEUTRAl, kept in near-natural ponds according to strict Naturland guidelines.

Origin: Ecuador (Chongon)

These organic shrimps come from a Naturland project in Ecuador, where they grow up in near-natural mangrove forests. The small farms guarantee ideal growing conditions for the shrimp's own organic breeding.

Our organic shrimps are kept in near-natural ponds according to the strict Naturland guidelines. The banks are overgrown with plants and provide a habitat for many animal species. Mangrove forests are important breeding grounds for fish and crustaceans and are among the most productive ecosystems on earth. Naturland shrimp farmers are not allowed to cut down mangroves - on the contrary, the standards oblige them to reforest former mangrove areas.

In the ecologically intact pond systems, the shrimps find a large part of their food in the form of algae and plankton. Certified organic feed is used as supplementary food where appropriate; the use of antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic agents is prohibited. Environmental standards and social criteria are indispensable aspects for successful certification according to Naturland standards.

Preparation note: Defrost the prawns, wash and drain. The typical pink colour is created when the prawns are cooked. Enjoy only when cooked through.

Steam: On a low heat for 4-6 minutes.

In the pan: Fry on medium heat for 2-4 minutes on both sides.
