Ego Bodegas Monastrell Goru Organic BIO 2018

The Goru Organic red wine, made purely from the Monastrell grape, is one of the insider tips from the Jumilla region. The small wine-growing region in the south-east of Spain, located roughly between Valencia and Murcia. The grapes come entirely from controlled organic farming. The Gorú Organic is also a young wine that matured for a good 2 months in American oak barrels. The dark red, powerful wine offers an aroma of blueberries, blackberries, toast, violets and various spices in the glass. Round on the palate, with the aroma of ripe, savoury fruit, well-integrated tannins and a pleasant aftertaste. 

The Ego Bodegas located in the region of Jumilla, in south-eastern Spain, is one of the still young wineries. It was only founded in 2011 by Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu, with the aim of setting up a future-proof company that balances quality, image and price. The boutique-like winery is located on a hill surrounded by old vineyards, planted with the Monastrell vines that are so typical in Jumilla and have unique conditions in the region.
