This intense ruby red wine reveals complex aromas of blackcurrants, raspberries, thyme, rosemary and hints of dark chocolate. The palate is uncomplicated and fresh with delicious fruit flavours and liquorice. This wine harmonises ideally with roast meat, game or strong cheeses.

It all began in 1979 when Joseph Helfrich, at the age of 23, decided to sell brandy and cognac beyond the borders of France. His father owned a small distillery and he became fascinated with these products. Joseph Helfrich celebrated his first really big success in 1984 with his J.P. Chenet, a wine bottled in crooked-necked spirit bottles. A real marketing coup! Today, Le Grand Chais du France (GCF) is one of the largest wine companies in France, with its headquarters in Petersbach in Alsace.
