omami Chickpea Tofu Sweet Chili

omami is like tofu, but made from whole chickpeas and coated in a forbidden good marinade. It is produced without soy, is full of vegetable proteins, is gluten-free and delicious to die for. How good is that?

Happy omami recipe: Creamy vegan butter chicken with omami sweet chili tofu
For 2. Ready in 30-40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 200 g omami sweet chili tofu, large crumble
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 1.5 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1.5 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, finely grated
- 1 can of tomatoes, chunky
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup sour cream (vegetable)
Preparation:
- Put the omami Sweet Chili Tofu Crumble in a bowl, add the cornstarch and roll the crumble in it.
- Heat a large pot with margarine and cooking oil and fry the chickpea tofu in it, turning it until golden brown and crispy. Remove, leaving the fat in the pot.
- Add the onion and garlic to the hot pot and sauté until translucent. Add the tomato paste and garam masala, fry for about 2-3 minutes, turning. Add the ginger.
- Deglaze the spices with the canned tomatoes. Add the sugar, mix in and let everything simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
- Finely puree the sauce in a blender or with a hand blender. Put it back in the pot and stir in the vegan sour cream. Simmer for another 5 minutes over low heat.
- Put the chickpea tofu in the sauce and cover it with it.
- To serve, put cooked rice on a plate as desired, pour the sauce over it and decorate with some spring onions if desired.

Never happens, but if there is anything left after opening: Put it in the refrigerator (at 2°C-7°C) and enjoy within 3 days.
