What is desloratadine +pharma and what is it used for?

Desloratadine +pharma contains desloratadine, which belongs to the group of antihistamines. Desloratadine +pharma is an anti-allergic medicine that does not make you sleepy. It helps to control your allergic reaction and its signs.

Desloratadine +pharma improves the signs of allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by an allergy, for example hay fever or dust mite allergy) in adults and young people aged 12 and over. These signs include sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itching of the palate and itchy, red or watery eyes.

Desloratadine +pharma is also used to get rid of signs associated with urticaria (skin condition caused by an allergy). These include itching and wheals.

The elimination of these signs lasts a whole day and helps you to regain your normal daily activity and sleep.

Warnings and precautions.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking desloratadine +pharma,

• if you have any other medical conditions, are pregnant or breast-feeding (see also section "Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility").
• if you have severely impaired kidney function.
• if you have a history or a family history of seizures.

Use in children and adolescents.
Do not administer this medicine to children under 12 years of age.

Taking desloratadine +pharma with other medicines .
Desloratadine +pharma is not known to interact with other medicines. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take any other medicinal products.

Taking desloratadine +pharma with food, drink and alcohol Desloratadine +pharma can be taken independently of meals. If possible, avoid alcohol during treatment with desloratadine +pharma.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility .
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

When taken at the recommended dose, this medicine is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. How to take the medicine?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and teenagers (12 years and over)
Take one film-coated tablet once a day.

How and when should you take desloratadine +pharma?
Take the film-coated tablets whole with or without meals with water.

How long should you take Desloratadine +pharma?
The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms.
See a doctor if your symptoms persist or get worse,

Treatment of intermittent allergic rhinitis (symptoms occur less frequently than 4 days per week or last less than 4 weeks), depends on your previous course of the disease, may be stopped after the symptoms have subsided and resumed if they recur.

If your allergic rhinitis is persistent (symptoms occur 4 or more days per week and last more than 4 weeks), a longer course of treatment is recommended.


For urticaria, the duration of treatment may vary from patient to patient.

If you have taken a larger amount of Desloratadine +pharma than you should Inadvertent overdose is not expected to cause any serious problems. If you have taken more Desloratadine +pharma than you should, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

If you forget to take Desloratadine +pharma
If you forget to take your dose on time, take it as soon as possible and then follow the normal treatment schedule again. Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten to take it before.

Store this medicine out of the reach of children.

Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture and light.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton or blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

You must not use this medicine if you notice any change in the appearance of the tablets.

Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. By doing so, you are helping to protect the environment.

Desloratadine +pharma 5 mg film-coated tablets are packaged in blister packs of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 15, 20, 21, 30, 50, 90 or 100 film-coated tablets.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
