What should you pay attention to before taking it?
What should you be aware of before taking Remifemin® Tablets?
Remifemin® Tablets must not be taken
if you are allergic to black cohosh or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Remifemin® Tablets.
If you have a history of liver disease, you must use this medicine with special care.
If signs of liver damage occur (yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, severe pain in the upper abdomen with nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, tiredness), you must stop taking Remifemin® Tablets immediately and consult a doctor.
If menstrual bleeding is disturbed, or if it recurs after at least twelve months of absence, or if there are persistent unclear or newly occurring other complaints, a doctor should first be consulted for diagnostic clarification.
If you are or have been receiving medical treatment for a tumour whose growth could be affected by certain hormones (oestrogens) (e.g. breast cancer or other types of cancer), you should not take Remifemin® Tablets without medical advice.
Children and adolescents
There is no indication for Remifemin® Tablets in children and adolescents under 18 years of age or in men.
When taking Remifemin® Tablets with other medicines
No interactions have been reported so far.
Nevertheless, please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or intend to take other medicines.
If you are receiving concomitant hormone replacement therapy, medical supervision is required.
Taking Remifemin® Tablets with food, drink
Take Remifemin® Tablets with food, drink or other medicines.There are no special precautions to be taken.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
As there are insufficient data, the use of Remifemin® Tablets during pregnancy and breast-feeding cannot be recommended.
Women of childbearing age should use effective non-hormonal contraceptive methods while taking this medicine.
Trafficability and ability to operate machinery
No relevant studies have been conducted on the effect on the ability to drive a vehicle or operate machinery.
Remifemin® Tablets contain milk sugar (lactose).
Please therefore only take this medicine after consulting your doctor
if you are known to suffer from an intolerance to certain sugars.
How should the medicine be taken?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose for menopausal women
is 1 tablet twice daily (morning and evening).
Application in children and adolescents
There is no indication for Remifemin® Tablets in children and adolescents under 18 years of age or in men.

To be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid.
Duration of application
Remifemin® Tablets do not have an immediate effect, an onset of effect is seen from 2 weeks of treatment.
If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 6 weeks of use, you must consult a doctor.
Remifemin® tablets must not be taken for longer than 6 months without medical advice.

The active substance is:

2.5 mg dry extract of cimicifuga rhizome (DEV 6 - 11:1)Extractant: Propan-2-ol (40 % V/V)
