What is Vitawund - ointment and what is it used for?
Vitawund is a wound and healing ointment. Chlorhexidine prevents the growth of germs that can lead to wound infection.
The ointment base supports wound healing.
Vitawund is used to promote wound healing in superficial wounds of all kinds with a risk of infection:
- abrasions and scratches
- skin irritations
- minor small-surface burns.

- abrasions and scratches
- skin irritations
- minor small-surface burns.

What should you be aware of before using Vitawund - Ointment?
Vitawund - Ointment must not be used,
- if you are allergic to chlorhexidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. if the eardrum is damaged, you must not use Vitawund - Ointment in the ear.
Warnings and precautions
Please consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Vitawund - Ointment.
For external use only.
The ointment should not be used on deep wounds, ulcers on the lower leg (leg ulcers), severe or extensive burns or under and around the skin.

The application on the eye and in the immediate vicinity of the eye, on mucous membranes or in the auditory canal should be avoided.
Use Vitawund - Ointment with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.
Simultaneous use with other germicidal agents (antiseptics) as well as soaps should be avoided.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Widespread use should be avoided during pregnancy. Breast-feeding women should not apply the ointment to the breast area and not over a large area.
Driving and ability to operate machinery

How should the medicine be taken?
How to use Vitawund - Ointment?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly
as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The ointment should be applied to the affected area of skin 1-3 times a day.
Use in children
Only a small area should be treated in newborns and infants.
If you have used a larger amount of Vitawund - Ointment than you should

Do not store above 25 °C. Keep this medicine tightly closed.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and tube after "Use by:"

Burns for 6 months after first opening.
Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

What Vitawund - Ointment contains
- The active ingredient is: chlorhexidine digluconate. 1 g ointment contains 5.25 mg chlorhexidine digluconate.
- The other ingredients are: Cod liver oil A, white vaseline, glycerol monoisostearate, polyglyceryl oleate, bleached wax, glycerol, hydrogenated castor oil, trometamol, acetic acid, sodium edetate dihydrate, purified water.

Vitawund is a soft, white to pale yellow, shiny ointment.
Vitawund is available in tubes of 40 g, 100 g.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
