Dr. Böhm St. John's wort 600 mg forte - film-coated tablets are a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of mental mood disorders which may be associated with loss of interest, depressed mood and listlessness.

St. John's wort has numerous ingredients that work together to produce a mood-lifting and drive-increasing effect.

Dr. Böhm St. John's wort 600 mg forte - film-coated tablets are used for adults over 18 years of age.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 6 weeks, consult your doctor.

Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg is a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of emotional states of mind which can be associated with loss of interest, depressed mood and listlessness.

This medicine is used in adults aged 18 years and over.

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What should you be aware of before taking Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg?

Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg must not be taken

• If you are allergic to St John's wort or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.

• If you are being treated with one of the following medicines at the same time:

• Preparations taken after organ transplants (e.g. ciclosporin, tacrolimus),
• Preparations for the treatment of HIV infections (e.g. indinavir),
• Preparations for the treatment of cancer (e.g. irinotecan),
• Preparations for thinning the blood
.

Warnings and precautions.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg.

The active substance St. John's wort may make you more sensitive to sunlight while you are taking Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg. Therefore, you should avoid excessive sunbathing and the use of sunbeds or solariums.
Children and adolescents
Since there is insufficient data, the use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended.
Take Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg with other medicinesInform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, or if you are going to take or use any other medicines....

Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg must not be taken at the same time as the following medicines as it may weaken their effect (see also section "Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg must not be taken"):

• Preparations that are used after organ transplants (e.g. ciclosporins, tacrolimus),
• Preparations for the treatment of HIV infections (e.g. indinavir),
• Preparations for cancer treatment (e.g. irinotecan),
• Preparations for thinning the blood.

Special caution is advised with simultaneous use of medicines for the treatment of depression or anxiety, severe pain, migraine, allergies, increased blood lipids, cardiac insufficiency, prostate enlargement. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines.

Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg can affect the effectiveness of medicines for contraception ("contraceptive pill"). Increased intermittent bleeding is possible, unwanted pregnancies have also been reported. Therefore, additional contraceptive measures should be used.

Before a planned operation, be sure to inform the attending doctors that you are taking Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Due to insufficient data, the use of this medicinal product is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Driving ability and ability to operate machinery.
No studies have been carried out on the effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery.
Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg may cause fatigue, this could adversely affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg - contains lactose.
Please therefore only take Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg after consulting your doctor if you are known to suffer from a sugar intolerance.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to take Dr. Böhm St John's wort forte 600 mg?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adults:
1 film-coated tablet daily

Style of administration:
To take.
The film-coated tablets should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid at mealtimes.
The tablets should be taken as regularly as possible.

Duration of use:
As the effect of the medicinal product builds up gradually, Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg should be taken consistently. The onset of effect can be expected within 4 weeks of treatment.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 6 weeks, consult your doctor.Use in children and adolescents
As there are insufficient data available, use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended.
If you take a larger amount of Dr. Böhm St. John's wort forte 600 mg than you shouldin an individual case, a massive overdose of 4.5 g dry extract (equivalent to about 7 film-coated tablets) per day over 2 weeks and an additional 15 g dry extract per day over 2 weeks has been observed.In one case, epileptic seizures and confusion have been reported after a massive overdose of 4.5 g dry extract (equivalent to about 7 film-coated tablets) per day for 2 weeks and an additional 15 g dry extract (equivalent to about 25 film-coated tablets) as a single dose of a medicinal product containing St. John's wort.

After taking a massive overdose, the skin should be protected from sunlight and other UV sources for 1-2 weeks.

Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before.

• The active substance is:
  Dry extract of St. John's wort (Hyperici herba)
  1 film-coated tablet contains:
  600 mg dry extract of St. John's wort (drug-extract ratio 3.5 - 6.0 : 1),
  Extractant: ethanol 60 % (m/m)
• The other ingredients are:

Calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, silicon dioxide, cellactose (cellulose, lactoser), sodium hydrogen carbonate, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, cellulose in, magnesium stearate, basic butyl methacrylate copolymer (Eudragit E 100), talcum, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 6000.
