What should you bear in mind before using Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Additive?

Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Additive must not be used,

.

• If you are allergic to refined soya oil, soya, peanut or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
.
• In fresh purulent forms of psoriasis (pustular psoriasis, psoriasis with pustules, partly with fever and disturbed general condition)
.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Additive.
Full baths - i.e. also those with Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - bath additive - should be used for

• major skin injuries and unclear acute skin diseases,
• severe febrile and infectious diseases,
• Heart muscle weakness (heart failure),
• Hypertension

Only be used after consulting a doctor.

Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - bath additive must not be used undiluted in the area of the eyes in particular. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of cold water. If irritation persists, an ophthalmological examination is advisable.

There is an increased risk of slipping due to the oil film on the skin and the oil film in the bath or shower. Therefore, care should always be taken to ensure a firm hold or stand.

Children

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or do not intend to take/use any other medicines.

The additional use of soaps or syndets (soap-free skin cleansers) cancels out the effect of Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - bath additive.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Salve may be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Driving and ability to operate machinery
Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Salve has no effect on the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Additive contains propylene glycol and benzyl benzoate
Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.
The benzyl benzoate contained in the perfume oil may cause mild irritation to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes.

How should the medicine be taken?

How should Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - bath additivebe used?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as agreed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is
Adults and adolescents from 12 years:
For a full bath (approx. 150 l) use two measuring cups (30 ml),
for a partial bath (5 l) use approx. 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml).
Children from 1 to 12 years:
For a children's bath (approx. 25 l) use 1/3 measuring cup (5 ml).
Children under 1 year:
The application for children under 1 year of age may only be carried out according to a doctor's recommendation.

For measuring the required amounts, the inner part of the screw cap can be used as a measuring cup.
Type of application
For application on the skin.

• The preparation must be shaken before use!
• Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - Bath Additive is added to the bath water and mixed in well until an even distribution is achieved.
• The bath water temperature should not significantly exceed 36 °C, as the refatting effect slowly diminishes at higher temperatures. A lower bath water temperature (around 32 °C) is particularly recommended for the treatment of itching.
• The duration of the bath is to be determined individually, but should not exceed 15 - 20 minutes. For children aged 1-12 years, an application time of only a few minutes is usually sufficient.
• The frequency of use of Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - bath additive depends on the type and extent of the symptoms. Generally, baths are recommended at intervals of two to three days. Daily bathing is also possible.
• Balneum Hermal Plus Polidocanol - bath additive can also be used for showering. The preparation is distributed undiluted on the moistened skin and then showered off.
• After bathing or showering, only dab the skin lightly with a towel. Heavy drying and rubbing off reduces the therapy effect.
