Echinacin MADAUS liquid contains the pressed juice of fresh flowering purple coneflower herb(Echinaceae purpureae herba) (fresh plant:pressed juice/ 1.7-2.5 : 1) as the active substance.
Echinacea purpurea acts as a non-specific immunostimulant.

Applications:
Echinacin MADAUS liquid is a herbal medicinal product for the supportive treatment and prevention of recurrent respiratory infections in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 10 days, consult your doctor.

What should you be aware of before taking Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid?

Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid must not be taken,

• If you are allergic to purple coneflower, other plant species of the
  cobweb family (e.g. chrysanthemums, arnica) or any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product listed in section 6.
.
• Because of its immunostimulating activity, Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid must not be used in
  progressive systemic diseases, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiencies,
  immunosuppression and diseases of the leucocytes (such as
  tuberculosis, leukaemia or leukaemia-like diseases, inflammatory diseases of the connective tissue
  (collagenoses): tuberculosis, leukaemia or leukaemia-like diseases, inflammatory diseases of the connective tissue
  (collagenoses), multiple sclerosis, AIDS diseases, HIV infections, chronic
  viral diseases).
• From children under 2 years.

Warnings and precautions
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid.

For the treatment of a cold, intake should be started at the first signs.

If shortness of breath, high fever or purulent or bloody sputum occurs, a doctor must be consulted.

In allergic patients there may be an increased risk of anaphylactic shock. Ask your doctor first if you are allowed to use Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid.

Children
Due to the lack of sufficient data and due to the alcohol content, the use in children aged 2-12 years cannot be recommended.

Taking Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid with other medicinesInteractions with other medicines are not known for Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or intend to take/use any other medicines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

Driving ability and ability to operate machinery.
No studies have been carried out on the effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery.

Echinacin MADAUS - liquid contains alcohol.
This medicinal product contains approx. 22% alcohol by volume, i.e. 0.55 ml alcohol is contained in a single dose (2.5 ml). If the dosage instructions are followed, this means an intake of 435 mg alcohol per single dose and 1.3 g alcohol daily dose (7.5 ml liquid). This corresponds to about 29 ml of beer or 11 ml of wine per day. There is a health risk for patients suffering from alcoholism.The alcohol content should be considered in pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as in children and in patients at increased risk due to liver disease or epilepsy.

How should the medicine be taken?

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage
The recommended dose for
adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:

For acute infections:
For shock treatment on day 1.Day 1: 2.5 ml initially, then up to 7 times at intervals of 1-2 hours: 1.25 ml.
From the 2.For further treatment: 2.5 ml 3 times daily

For prevention (prophylaxis):
3 times daily 2.5 ml

Application in children
Children under 2 years of age must not take Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid.

Since there is insufficient data, the use in children aged 2-12 years cannot be recommended.

Type and duration of use
To be taken with a little liquid if necessary.

Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid must not be used continuously for more than 8 weeks.

If you do not feel better or even worse after 10 days, consult your doctor.

If you have taken a larger amount of Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid than you should
There are no known cases of overdose.

If you forget to take Echinacin MADAUS - Liquid
Do not take twice the amount if you have forgotten to take it before, but continue to take it as stated in this leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor.

If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not store above 30 °C.
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and label after "EXP:". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.

After the bottle has been opened for the first time, Echinacin MADAUS - liquid has a shelf life of 3 months.

In the case of natural preparations, occasional cloudiness or flocculation does not impair the effect.
Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

  100 g contain 80 g pressed juice.
• The other ingredients are: Ethanol, purified water.
• Total ethanol content: approx. 22 vol.-%

2.5 ml Echinacin MADAUS - liquid corresponds to 2 ml pressed juice of purple coneflower herb.

Echinacin MADAUS - liquid is a brownish liquid in an amber glass bottle with a drop dispenser and screw cap.
A measuring cup with markings for 1.25 ml, 2 ml and 2.5 ml is included.
