Fungal diseases of the finger and toe nails.

1. What is Loceryl antifungal nail varnish and what is it used for?

Loceryl antifungal nail varnish is a medicine used to treat
fungal diseases of the fingernails and toenails. The active ingredient in Loceryl
amorolfine inhibits the growth of fungi and kills them.
Loceryl is effective against a wide variety of amorolfine-sensitive fungi, such as yeasts,
skin fungi and moulds.
Bacteria, however, are not sensitive to Loceryl.
Loceryl antifungal nail polish is suitable for use by adults and adolescents aged 13 and over.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 6 months, consult

What should you pay attention to before taking it?

What should you be aware of before using Loceryl-antifungal nail polish?

Loceryl antifungal nail varnish must not be used
- if you are allergic to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6. other ingredients of this medicine mentioned
- if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Warnings and Precautions
Please talk to your pharmacist before using Loceryl antifungal
nail varnish.
During treatment with Amorolfine, you should refrain from using artificial
nails.
Loceryl antifungal nail polish should not be applied to the skin surrounding the nail.
Avoid any contact with the eyes, ears and mucous membranes.
After applying Loceryl antifungal nail polish, a cosmetic nail polish should only be applied after a 10-minute break, if required. However, if Loceryl antifungal nail varnish is applied repeatedly, any nail varnish that may have been applied should be removed
and only then should a new application of Loceryl antifungal nail varnish be made.
When handling organic solvents, be sure to wear impermeable gloves, otherwise the Loceryl varnish layer on the fingernails will be removed.

This medicine can cause allergic reactions, some can
also be severe. If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately and remove the product with a nail varnish remover (or with the alcohol swabs provided) and seek medical advice (doctor or pharmacist).
You need urgent help if you experience the following symptoms:
- Problems breathing
- Face, lips, tongue or throat swells
- Severe skin rash

Use in children and young people
Due to lack of experience, children and young people under 13 years of age should not be treated with Loceryl antifungal nail varnish.

Use of Loceryl antifungal nail varnish together with other medicinal products.
Inform your pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or intend to use any other medicinal products.
There are no known interactions for Loceryl
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Loceryl must not be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to use Loceryl antifungal nail varnish?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your pharmacist if you are not sure.

For topical use. Apply to the affected nails.
Apply Loceryl antifungal nail polish to the affected fingernails or toenails once a week.
Cosmetic nail varnish can only be applied
after a 10 minute
pause has elapsed following application of Loceryl antifungal nail varnish.
Before repeated use of the vial, remove any varnish residue or cosmetic varnish layers on the
nails and file
their nails again. Clean your nails with the enclosed swab and
apply Loceryl antifungal nail polish again as prescribed.

Duration of treatment
The attending doctor will decide on the duration of use. Fungal infections are often very persistent. You must therefore use Loceryl antifungal nail polish without interruption and until the diseased nails have grown back completely healthy. The time required for this is generally 6 months, depending on the degree of infestation and localisation.
Due to lack of experience, children and adolescents under 13 years of age should not be treated with Loceryl.

Do not store above 25°C.
Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from light.Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton/vial after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Close the glass vial carefully after use.

Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. In doing so, they contribute to the protection of the environment.

What Loceryl antifungal nail varnish contains:
- The active substance is: amorolfine in the form of the hydrochloride.
1 ml contains 50 mg amorolfine in the form of the hydrochloride.
- The other ingredients are:
n-butyl acetate, anhydrous ethanol, ethyl acetate, methacrylic acid copolymer, triacetin.
