The mechanism of action is antagonism with the amino acid arginine, which is necessary for the reproduction of the herpes simplex virus. L-lysine reduces intestinal absorption, reabsorption via the kidney and the transport of arginine in the body. Therefore, less arginine is available for virus replication, which can stop virus spread.

Dietary treatment of an acute cold sore (herpes simplex infections cold sores): At the first signs of fever blisters (early symptoms), such as burning, itching, stinging, feeling of tightness) start immediately.

Recommended dosage: 2 x 1 sachet daily until complete healing.
Dietary treatment for recurrent fever blisters (herpes labialis infections recurrent fever blisters):
To reduce the regular outbreak of fever blisters, ERALYSIN can be taken daily for at least 2 months. Intake for 6 months up to 3 years has also been reported.

Recommended dosage: 1 x 1 sachet daily.
How is ERALYSIN taken?
It contains sachets of a soluble powder that is dissolved in approx. 200mg of lukewarm water and drunk. It is neutral in taste.
