Application
1. What is Antiflat and what is it used for?
Disordered digestion, poor diet, flatulent foods and swallowing air often lead to flatulence. Particularly in babies and toddlers, hasty drinking often leads to flatulence. This makes the normal absorption of gases through the intestinal wall more difficult or even completely impossible. The gas accumulations are then present in the gastrointestinal tract as a sluggish, small-bubble foam.Simeticon, the active ingredient in Antiflat, causes the foam to break down. This allows the intestinal gases to leave naturally. The active ingredient itself is not absorbed into the bloodstream, but is excreted unchanged.
The use of Antiflat usually leads to a rapid relief of symptoms with a feeling of relief and eliminates the feeling of tension in the bloated abdomen. Heart constriction caused by displacement of the diaphragm (Roemheld syndrome) also subsides after a short time.
Antiflat is used in adults, adolescents and children.
In cases of excessive gas formation and gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract (meteorism) with complaints such as flatulence, a feeling of fullness and a feeling of tension in the upper abdomen, caused, for example, by swallowing air or by a stomach bug.
In the case of increased gas formation after operations and Roemheld's syndrome.
In preparation for diagnostic examinations in the abdominal region to reduce gas shadows (ultrasound examinations, X-rays).
In cases of flushing agent poisoning.
