What should you pay attention to before taking it?

Livostin - Nasal Spray must not be used
- if you are allergic to levocabastine or any of the other ingredients listed in section 6. in children under 8 years of age.

Warnings and precautions
Livostin - Nasal Spray should not be used for more than 2 weeks without a doctor's prescription. If treatment is to last longer than 2 weeks, it must be prescribed by a doctor and monitored continuously (see also section 3).

If you have a known kidney impairment, please inform your doctor.

Children under 8 years:
The efficacy and safety of Livostin - Nasal Spray have not been established in children under 8 years of age. Therefore, use in this age group is not recommended.

Use of Livostin - Nasal Spray with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or might take/use any other medicines.
If the recommended dosage is observed, no interactions are expected. The simultaneous use of other anti-allergic medicines (also in other pharmaceutical forms) is possible.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Pregnancy:
The doctor treating you will decide whether Livostin - Nasal Spray should be used during pregnancy. Therefore, the application may only be carried out after consultation with this person.

Lactation:
Livostin may be used with caution during breast-feeding.

Driving and ability to operate machinery
Caution: this medicinal product may impair the ability to react and drive.
Normally, Livostin - Nasal Spray does not impair the ability to react or concentrate. However, if you feel drowsy (see section 4), caution is advised when operating machinery and when actively participating in road traffic.

Livostin - Nasal Spray contains propylene glycol and benzalkonium chloride
As with all preparations intended for use in the nose which contain benzalkonium chloride, propylene glycol and esters, Livostin - Nasal Spray may cause skin irritation.The preservative benzalkonium chloride contained in Livostin - Nasal Spray may cause swelling of the nasal mucosa, especially after prolonged use.

How should the medicine be taken?

How to use Livostin - Nasal Spray?

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet
or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Dosage
Adults, adolescents and children aged 8 years and over:
2 sprays per nostril, 2x daily. This dose can be increased to 2 sprays 3-4 times a day.

Children under 8 years:
The efficacy and safety of Livostin - Nasal Spray has not been established in children under 8 years of age. Therefore, use in this age group is not recommended (see also section 2 "Livostin - nasal spray must not be used").

Type of application:
For nasal use. For spraying into the nose.1. Shake the vial well before removing the protective cap.
2. Before first use, after removing the protective cap, operate the spray pump until a fine spray comes out. The spray is now ready for any further use.
3. Clear the nasal passages before use.
4. Hold the vial as shown in the illustration. Tilt your head slightly forward. Hold one nostril closed and insert the spray nozzle of the fine dispenser into the other nostril.
5. Press the spray mechanism twice firmly. Inhale through the nose while spraying.
6. Repeat points 4 and 5 for the other nostril.

For hygienic reasons to avoid infections, each dosing spray must only ever be used by one and the same person.

Duration of treatment:

The optimal and successful treatment of allergic diseases requires both an initial diagnosis and regular checks by the doctor.
Livostin - Nasal Spray should therefore not be used for longer than 2 weeks without a doctor's prescription. If after this time the symptoms have not been sufficiently alleviated, the doctor should be consulted in order to clarify the exact cause.
On the doctor's prescription, Livostin - Nasal Spray can also be used for longer than 2 weeks. In this case, it should not be used for longer than 3 months if used regularly.

Treatment should only be continued until the symptoms of the disease have subsided, but not for longer than 3 months (see also section 2 "Warnings and precautions").

The duration between two applications is determined by the effect of Livostin - Nasal Spray. Livostin - Nasal Spray should be used at the first signs of allergic rhinitis.
Patients with kidney function disorders:
Your doctor may reduce your dosage if you have kidney disease (see also section 2 "Warnings and precautions").

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think that the effect of Livostin - Nasal Spray is too strong or too weak.

If you have used a larger amount of Livostin - Nasal Spray than youshould
Reports of overdoses with levocabastine are not available. If you accidentally drink the whole bottle, you may feel a little sleepy. Tell a doctor and drink as much water as possible in the meantime.

If you forget to use Livostin - Nasal Spray
Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten to use it before. Instead, simply apply the usual following dosage at the usual time.

If you stop using Livostin - Nasal Spray
Do not suddenly stop using the medicine or change the prescribed dosage on your own. If you want to stop the treatment, please discuss this with your doctor first.

Contents of the pack and other information
What Livostin - Nasal Spray contains:
- The active substance is: levocabastine hydrochloride. 1 ml contains levocabastine hydrochloride corresponding to 0.5 mg levocabastine.
- 1 spray contains approximately 0.05 mg levocabastine.
- The other ingredients are: Benzalkonium chloride, propylene glycol, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, hypromellose, polysorbate 80, disodium edetate, purified water.
